  • As World AIDS Day comes to a close, we want to say a huge THANK YOU. 💖 To everyone who visited our stalls, hosted events, supported our #GetToZero campaign, donated to Waverley Care and celebrated the incredible progress made since the 1980s—we are deeply grateful. 🙏 Together, we can achieve zero new HIV transmissions by 2030. But this goal can only become reality if we: • Prioritise education about HIV • Make regular testing a normal part of life • Build supportive, inclusive communities • Take a stand against stigma Every conversation, every act of support, and every effort to educate brings us closer to a future free from HIV stigma and inequality. #WorldAIDSDay2024 #GetToZero #EndHIVStigma

Head of Corporate Services at Waverley Care 💜 / Trustee at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home 💚

On this World AIDS Day 1st December 2024, we're calling on people across Scotland to join us in Putting People First. While we've made great progress, there's still work to do. ✨ It's a fun day of fundraising and raising awareness for me and our amazing volunteers today at Edinburgh Waverley Station - always a great opportunity to raise crucial funds and talk to the public about our important work. Waverley Care exists to ensure that everyone in Scotland at risk of or living with HIV can expect to be treated with acceptance, support and respect and to bring an end to HIV inequality and stigma 💜 This #WorldAIDSDay, let's challenge the stigma, share accurate information, and create a world where everyone can live well with HIV. https://lnkd.in/e_iUkMkF #worldaidsday2024 #puttingpeoplefirst

🌍 World AIDS Day 2024: Steven’s story 🌟 Today, we stand with people like Steven, who share their stories in the hope of changing how we see HIV and those who live with it. Steven's journey started a decade ago when he was diagnosed with HIV at just 24 years old. What followed was a journey of isolation, stigma, and self-doubt—but also one of transformation, connection, and hope. In his own words: "The stigma was real. I felt the weight of isolation and became the subject of gossip. For years, I kept people at a distance, feeling incredibly alone. But over time, I connected with people who helped me rebuild my self-esteem and find my voice." Today, Steven is living well with HIV. His viral load is undetectable, thanks to modern treatments, and he’s learning to embrace life fully. But his story isn't just about medical advancements—it’s about the power of connection, understanding, and community. ✨ Read Steven’s full story here 👉 https://buff.ly/4eYkdzR #WorldAIDSDay2024 #PutPeopleFirst
