A look back at our very special family programme, GROW-COOK-SHARE, as we come to a close for another year 🥹🌻🍓🚜👨👧👧🥒 Since April, we’ve been growing, cooking, and sharing together. Each family lovingly tended to their garden beds, bringing new life to everything from beetroots and pac choi to sunflowers and strawberries. 🌽💐🥦 GROW-COOK-SHARE is all about community, giving local families without garden access to a space to grow their own food and connect. A heartfelt thank you to our families who have built such a strong community here with many lasting memories and friendships that go beyond just food 💓 Swipe to see highlights: 🍃 Harvesting potatoes and sharing home recipes (including homemade crisps!) in our family WhatsApp group 🌿 Propagating and planting a protective willow strip for next year’s beds 🍄 Building an outdoor mushroom bed 🥖 Sage oil flatbreads (yum!) 💫 Our youngest member, Francis, from April to October – not the only one who grew this season! 🥹 “Being part of GROW COOK SHARE has meant so much to me and my son. APPLY: https://lnkd.in/eWBdMsRr                  GROW is looking for an experienced & caring community-minded individual to lead two of our key community programmes: GROW-COOK-SHARE and the Grahame Park Community Garden, championing our mission that EVERYBODY has the right to grow. ⏰️Terms: 2 days a week/freelance 📆Start date: Jan 2025-Nov 2025 📍Location: Barnet 💰Remuneration: £150 per day 🌼More about our programmes🌼 💓GROW-COOK-SHARE💓 Every year, we welcome up to 10 Barnet-based families who do not have access to a garden to join the GCS programme. Each family is given their own raised bed on our farm for the growing season and receives fortnightly food growing and cooking workshops. As we enter our 4th year, we are focusing on enhancing the co-design and co-delivery aspects of GCS, encouraging participants to take more ownership of the programme. Our goal is to expand the number of available beds, so families with no access to green spaces can grow with us for as long as they wish. 💓GRAHAME PARK COMMUNITY GARDEN💓 In 2023, GROW began managing a disused community garden in the middle of the Grahame Park Estate. Through community focus groups & collaboration, the Grahame Park Garden has thrived into an appreciated community space, engaged with by over 550 visitors. (BIG UP @perrysophieann!) As the project enters its 2nd year, the focus will be on building this momentum!
