Mitchells & Butlers Property continues Mitchells & Butlers PLC move to bring Browns Brasserie & Bar to the suburbs with our newest opening at Brown’s Sutton Park. Formerly a Toby Carvery and located in a historic building that was once a water mill constructed in the 16th century. The house was originally built in the 18th century as a mill house on the site of an earlier watermill. The mill was used to grind blades in the early 18th century, and later to polish guns for the Napoleonic Wars. The mill closed in 1840 and was partially demolished, but cottages next to Park House are the remains of the mill building. The house was extended in 1898 with a timbered Tudor style and is now a Grade 2 listed building, list entry 1116269 on Historic England website (see 3rd photo showing a postcard image from 1900 - 1930). The building has been totally transformed, bringing back to life all of the original features through a careful and well planned restoration process to create a beautiful new venue, oozing Browns Brasserie & Bar opulence and beauty We think you’ll agree it’s quite stunning and if you’re in the area please pop in and say high to Daniel Folcarelli and the team. October really was the month of celebration for our Building Development teams! One of our final Building Development Contractor Forums held at our Retail Support Centre, was for our development Building Contractors, hosted by Ian Reeley. The day was full of new initiatives, networking, refining our ways of working and looking ahead to what is on the FY25 horizon and more. Thanks Wensley Group for the great headboard extension project you completed at The Oxford Holiday inn. The rooms look great and the concept of being able to switch from a double bed to twins depending on the business will be a great help for such a busy hotel.

Our second completed project of the week for our client, Nine Points Property Ltd & MH Architects. The brief for this project was to repair and render the property, preparing it for use as a care facility. **Minor Demolition and Alteration Works Included** - Infilling the first floor - Stairs and ramps installation - Balustrades - Capping off the chimney - Roof repair and fascia - Installation of windows, internal and external doors - Ventilation system - Internal stud walls and partitions - Loft hatch installation - Wall finishes - Karndean flooring - Floor and wall tiling - Ceiling finishes - Fixtures and fittings - Full kitchen installation - Full bathroom and sanitaryware installation - Water and waste disposal installations - Electrical installations - Fire protection installations - Communication, security, and control systems - Garage conversion - Wiring, plumbing, and heating - Landscaping, planting, and irrigation systems - Fencing, railing, and walls - External drainage We are extremely proud of the final result. The team went above and beyond to complete this project to a high standard. The Whiskey Cafe, St. Ives has now been completed, and the transformation is remarkable.
