Today, it was great to host Malindi Myers, the Bank of England’s South West Agent, for an insightful breakfast update on the UK economy. She covered many elements that are crucial to a successful business environment including GDP, inflation, interest rates, the labour market, productivity and pay as well as an array of influencing factors in an uncertain world. Her presentation was followed by extensive questioning from the audience wanting to get beneath the figures and the forecasts sparking a great discussion. Thanks to Malindi, the Bank of England team and our guests for an engaging and thought provoking session.

It's #NAW2025 and we’re shining a spotlight on the amazing contribution apprentices make to our business and the exciting opportunities that WPA offer for apprentices to earn whilst they learn 👍 We offer apprenticeships in finance, customer service and IT - from levels 3-7 too! We’ve seen our apprentices bring fresh ideas and amazing dedication to the table, proving that learning while working is a powerful combination! 💙 https://lnkd.in/e8mRTnvX

Today is #TimeToTalk day — a reminder of how important it is to pause, check in with each other, and have meaningful conversations. We’re encouraging our team to take a break, connect with friends, and open up if they feel comfortable to. A simple chat can make a world of difference. If you or someone you know is struggling, organisations like Mind, Samaritans, and resources on the WPA Health & Wellbeing Hub are always ready to help. Let’s keep the conversation going—today and every day. 💙
It can be uncomfortable to open up and share how we’re really feeling. But talking openly and honestly can be the first step towards better mental health for everyone. Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. Each year, it helps friends, families, communities and workplaces to have millions of conversations about mental health across the UK. This Time to Talk Day, we’re asking people to get comfortable and start talking about mental health. So if you find yourself fancying a brew, perhaps talk it through.
