Chris Bush will start on 28th October 2024, taking over from Acting Group CEO Rian Du Toit, who will return to his role as Group CFO. Chris Bush, a graduate of Manchester Business School and INSEAD, is a highly experienced international CEO with almost 40 years of experience working across grocery retail. He has led vastly complex multinational organisations, driving growth and turnaround across various geographies, and has a strong track record in leading people and operations. Our first shipment of South African Hass avocados has arrived in China. Expanding into China is a significant moment for Westfalia Fruit, following years of hard work, including a crucial phytosanitary agreement signed in August 2023. The shipment arrived in Shanghai on 8 October 2024. There was a ceremony to showcase this historic arrival, attracting considerable media interest. The photos were taken at the Huizhan Wholesale Market where sales went well on the 10th of October, with fruit also reaching retail supermarkets. A big thank you to Donald Westcott, Neléne Kleynhans, Johan van Eeden, Hans Boyum, Diego Vásquez, and all other AvoExperts involved, who made this happen and contributed to our vision of making Westfalia Fruit avocados available to everyone. #Leadership #Markets #China
