What a whirlwind few weeks it’s been! We've been very happy to reconnect with industry clients, friends, and colleagues at some fantastic events, celebrating the talent and passion that make our industry shine. ✨ 🎄It all kicked off at the ABTT Christmas gathering at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, where four incredible individuals were recognised with Honorary Membership and Fellowship awards for their extraordinary contributions including Jane Thornton, Robin Townley, Paddy Dillon & Phil Parsons. 👏 Our talented apprentices, under the guidance of our colleague Chris Gadd delivered the lighting & AV solutions for the event. 🎄 On Monday, we joined the lighting community at the ALPD Lighting Lunch at the Phoenix Arts Club, where more industry legends were celebrated for their remarkable achievements. 🎄 Finally, we rounded off with some festive cheer at the OFFIES Christmas celebrations—and we can’t wait to see who takes home next year’s awards! In Memory of John Simpson. For those who have visited us recently, you may have noticed the Memorial Garden right across from our building in Wimbledon. As we celebrate our 53rd anniversary, we take this moment to honour John’s contributions not only to White Light but to our entire industry. Throughout his life, John supported numerous communities, businesses, and associations, including the South Wimbledon Business Area (SWBA). Established in 2007, the SWBA aimed to enhance the local business park and support its businesses. To honour John's legacy, co-founder of both White Light and the SWBA, they suggested creating a memorial garden on the park. 🌟 Supporting Creative Careers! 🌟 Last week, we proudly participated in Discover! Creative Careers, an industry-led initiative aimed at inspiring young people with in-school, workplace, and online experiences in the creative industries. Working with Wandsworth Council, we engaged with students from various local schools. Our friend Pete Lambert discussed his journey as a Production Electrician, while our very own Stuart Porter shared insights into his roles as an Associate Lighting Designer and Programmer.
