Rosie shows you five bat detectors that are perfect for beginners 🦇 Bat detectors help us "hear" the ultrasonic calls that bats use for echolocation, which are too high-pitched for human ears. They work by converting these high-frequency sounds into lower frequencies we can perceive. The story behind Sara’s camera trap capture… This image was captured in a field on our farm near a den which was used last year for cubs, using a wildlife camera on a trail following the hedge near the den. It was captured in an effort to monitor and observe the foxes' well-being. I love foxes, and they have had cubs each year for three years. I also have footage of the mother fox and a third individual, the gender or age of which I am not sure (it seems like a juvenile). This image shows (I think) a male fox, who I assume is the father of the cubs this year, in the midday sun. He seems to have noticed the camera weeks after it had been placed. Thank you to Sarah for sharing this lovely capture with us! #nativewildlife #conservation #wildlife #foxoftheday #foxes
