Our mission is to provide accurate long term biodiversity data to #ecologists, land owners and organisations who want to understand the impact they're having - from baseline studies to long term monitoring. This video, produced by the amazing Verity White about a project on the Somerset Levels in the UK, discusses why monitoring is so important. This is the first time I have ever been in front of the camera like this .... be gentle!! Lots more to come with some particularly exciting coverage coming soon!
Wilder Sensing
Technology, Information and Internet
Nature Technology company using Artificial Intelligence to quantify changes to biodiversity.
About us
We provide a cloud platform to enable investors, land managers, farmers, ecologists and citizen scientists to better understand changes to biodiversity. Using audio files and Machine Learning, Wilder Sensing provides details of whats present on a site and, over time, helps understand changes to biodiversity.

Understanding and Interpreting Your Bioacoustics Data 26 Nov 2024 | Cat Scutts | Wilder Sensing Bioacoustic surveys can produce millions of species-level records during long-term monitoring, offering opportunities to explore new questions and gain deeper insights into biodiversity. But how do you design an effective survey? How does this align with traditional survey methods? What stories is the data telling us about the biodiversity recorded on site? This session will demonstrate strategies for designing surveys and interpreting bioacoustic data to maximise its potential. Reserve your space now. https://lnkd.in/esHAWHRF

Our new blog post shares the sad news that four migratory shorebird species—the Grey Plover, Dunlin, Turnstone, and Curlew Sandpiper—have been elevated to higher threat categories on the global IUCN Red List. These species are emblematic of a wider crisis, as 16 migratory shorebirds worldwide face rising threats from habitat loss, climate change, and pollution. This is a wake-up call to strengthen conservation efforts and address the challenges of protecting migratory birds and their critical habitats. Learn how we can all contribute to reversing these declines here: https://lnkd.in/eqevHNTv #Conservation #MigratoryBirds #BiodiversityCrisis

Today, our CEO, Geoff Carss, had the pleasure of speaking to MSc students in University of the West of England’s Applied Wildlife Conservation program. Geoff’s session, part of the Innovation for Conservation module, delved into the impact of creative thinking on tackling environmental and conservation challenges, sharing hands-on tips for developing transformative ideas. Geoff was joined by our Business Development Manager, Cat Scutts, who is completing her MSc at UWE. Cat shared her research poster based on bioacoustic data from Somerset Wildlife Trust's Honeygar site, investigating biodiversity changes linked to conservation interventions. We’re proud to support initiatives like these and inspire the conservation leaders of tomorrow! #SouthWest #UWE #NextGeneration #Conservation
