It's a big year in the fight against lead ammunition. With BirdLife Europe and Central Asia we're also pushing for a complete ban on lead ammunition in outdoor shooting across Europe - but we need your help. This is big – in Europe a million birds die every year from lead poisoning linked to ammunition, and a million children face lead exposure from game meat. The same waterbirds that migrate to the UK every year fly directly through Europe to get here – so it’s critical we ban lead ammunition across the whole flyway. Now is the time - can you help us #BanLeadNow in Europe by signing this petition? https://lnkd.in/drGXkqY6

Today, we're celebrating World Waterfowl Day. 🦢 Fun fact: you might've heard someone say, “nice weather for ducks” when it rains. But, in reality, these birds like the dry weather just like us. 🦆 It takes ducks a lot of time and attention to keep their feathers clean, dry and waterproof, which means they spend even more time preening when the heavens open! 🌧️ Discover more wonderful waterfowl facts today ➡️: https://lnkd.in/e2PhRp-5 #WorldWaterfowlDay #Waterbirds #Birds #Nature

One decision is all it takes to end decades of lead poisoning from ammunition. Steve Reed now has the chance to ban the sale and use of lead ammunition. Lead has been banned from petrol, paint and pipes – only a full ban will ensure it’s removed from ammunition as well. Join us in calling on Steve Reed to make history and #BanLead 👉 https://lnkd.in/e25fxdcm

Toxic lead has been banned from petrol, paint and pipes. But in 2025, lead from ammunition is still being scattered across our environment – poisoning people, wildlife and wetlands. Voluntary efforts to ban lead ammunition have failed. Now, Environment Secretary Steve Reed MP has a chance to #BanLead ammunition for good. Will you ask Steve Reed to help make lead history? https://lnkd.in/e25fxdcm

Lead has been poisoning our wildlife and communities for decades. 7,000 tonnes of lead ammunition is scattered into our environment every year, creeping up the food chain and contaminating the soil for generations to come. But now, a crucial review into restricting lead ammunition is sitting on Environment Secretary Steve Reed’s desk. We have a unique chance to help end the era of lead for good. Will you join us in calling on Steve Reed to help make lead history? https://lnkd.in/e25fxdcm
