Where Past Meets Precedent    William Sturges LLP lineage dates back to 1780. Being headquartered in historic Westminster, we're constantly discovering fascinating pieces of local history and, as inquisitive lawyers, connecting these discoveries to the evolution of law.   Did you know that Duck Island, a hidden gem in St James Park, became home to pelicans in 1612 when Russia gifted them to the Royal Park? The 17th century also saw the introduction of many laws, most notably with the 1689 Bill of Rights.    This landmark document, written in iron gall ink on parchment, established fundamental principles we still rely on today: parliamentary privilege, free elections, freedom of speech in Parliament and protection from unjust treatment by courts. The recent LawNet Ltd Conference was a great opportunity for our team members including Jai Sharda, James Hannon, Matthew Montlake, Rob Talbot and Rosie Hannon to connect with fellow legal professionals and gain valuable insights into how technologies like AI will impact our industry.
