  • Congratulations to Harjinder Mehmi for being awarded with a Gold Extra Mile Award 🏆   Harjinder received this prestigious award when he stood up and ran two UCB sites when his line manager was taken very ill, very suddenly. Without hesitation Harjinder took immediate control of the two UCB sites assuming the role of site manager. Not only did Harjinder do an amazing job in the role as security manager he was also supporting his line manager and his family.    Thank you Harjinder for your amazing contribution and ongoing hard work to Wilson James.   #GoldExtraMile #WilsonJamesAwards

  • Congratulations to Molly Faulks for receiving the Rising Star award in our Infrastructure division 🏗️    Molly, a vital part of our Logistics team at Hinkley Point C, excels in managing stores and inventory across the site. She was awarded 2024 Rising Star in Infrastructure for her commitment to excellence and dedication to our core values: safety, respect, honesty, communication and responsibility.  Molly wasn't able to attend our Management Conference earlier this year, and so her well-deserved award was presented by Operations Lead Phil Barnett on behalf of our Executive Team. This recognition is testament to Molly's hard work and the incredible team spirit we've built at Hinkley Point C. Well done Molly! #TeamWJ #WomenInNuclear #RecognitionAward

  • 12 native trees pledge to UK hedgerows 🌳   Wilson James were proud to attend the Heathrow Business Summit last week, exploring exciting opportunities for collaboration and showcasing our capability in logistics, passenger services, and security.   Sustainability is integral to our work, which is why we ran a competition with a difference in support of our mission to reduce carbon emissions, improve biodiversity and leave a lasting impact on local ecosystems.   We are delighted to share that we received enough entries on the day to plant a total of 12 native trees through Carbon Footprint Ltd. Each tree planted helps to offset our environmental impact by "breathing" in CO2 emissions as it grows. Our 12 trees will help save 12 tonnes of carbon. The trees also provide sustainable habitat for wildlife and will enhance the natural landscape with broad-leaved trees.   #HeathrowBizSummit #WorkingWithWilsonJames #CarbonFootprint #SustainabilityInAction

  • A week of Remembrance at Wilson James 🕊️   This week, we have been proud to reflect on the importance of Remembrance and the sacrifices made by those who have served their country.    Yesterday, members of our Veterans Network visited the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to pay tribute to those who never made it home, and lay a wreath at the Armed Forces Memorial. It was an emotional but powerful day that demonstrated the strength of our veteran & reservist community.   Elsewhere, Wilson James colleagues from across the business have joined the 121 challenge, committing to walk 121 miles in November to raise funds for the Royal British Legion . 121 symbolises the distance from the Cenotaph in London to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. We're halfway through the month and cheering on everyone who is taking part!    At London Gatwick Airport, our team has been fundraising for the 2024 Poppy Appeal, selling poppies across the terminal. Members of #TeamWJ have also been taking time to thank the incredible Royal British Legion volunteers they've met whilst out and about, capturing moments with individuals as they purchased their poppies.    We make our commitment both this week and throughout the year to continue to honour the past, support the present and strive for a future where the sacrifices of others are never forgotten.   #Remembrance2024

  • A day to remember for Wilson James and the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths 🔨   We were incredibly proud to support the historic Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths at this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show. More than 90 Liverymen, Freemen, skilled blacksmiths, and Military Affiliates came together to celebrate this craft in the heart of London, with a stunning float mounted on a Wilson James HGV.    The custom-built float, designed and created by blacksmiths from across the UK with support from dedicated blacksmithing students, was an display of craftsmanship and tradition. Alongside our float, the HMS Sultan Steam Waggon joined the procession, paying tribute to British industry.   This year’s event marks the first time in recorded history that the Blacksmiths’ Company has a Lord Mayor in office - an extraordinary milestone in a lineage dating back to 1299. We extend our congratulations to our CFO, Mark Abraham, who serves as the Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths and plays a key role in supporting this incredible community.   #LordMayorsShow #WCOBlacksmiths #LogisticsInAction
