Have you ever come across the term "double retraction"? If not, here's why it's something you should be aware of, especially if you're involved in caring for others. The double retraction feature offers a range of important benefits: ✔️ Enhanced Support Surface: By increasing the surface area of the backrest and thigh support, it optimizes the support provided in the seat area. ✔️ Reduced Pressure on Sensitive Areas: It has been proven to effectively reduce pressure on sensitive parts of the body, such as the buttocks and coccyx, minimizing discomfort and potential injuries. ✔️ Improved Breathing: The double retraction feature promotes a relaxed sitting position, creating more space in the chest and abdominal area, thereby facilitating better breathing. ✔️ Enhanced Positioning: It enables preventive and comfortable positioning of immobile residents, thanks to the long backrest that spans almost 90 cm. Automatic Night Light 🌙💡 - for safer orientation in the dark. Night time can present an increased risk of falls when visibility is poor and it is much more difficult to navigate a space, no matter how familiar a person may be with their surroundings. Our smart feature helps promote independence, provide assurance and take away the fear and added risk of falling. The automated night light feature is automatically switched on when the resident leaves the bed. For example, to go to the bathroom, and then switches itself off again as soon as the resident is back in bed. Statistically speaking, 30% of people over 65 fall at least once a year. This figure increases to almost 50% for over 80's and the percentage of people at risk of falling is even higher in nursing homes. As we age, risk factors for falls increase. These include reduced muscle strength, poor vision, sleep problems, daytime fatigue, incontinence and dizziness, to name just a few. Other external elements such as the physical surroundings and living environment can pose a risk too. The right level of intervention and assistance plays an important role to help manage and eliminate risk and protect seniors from resulting falls.
