📢 Bridging North London's Skills Gap with Adult Education Dipa Ganguli OBE: "I’ve witnessed how adult education changes lives in our community, equipping learners with skills for better careers, stronger communities, and improved wellbeing. Yet, with the government's 3% cut to adult learning funding, we stand to lose more than 80,000 learners' access to vital training programs and over 3,000 teaching jobs. Adult education is more than just skills training – it's about social inclusion, boosting mental health, and addressing North London's skills shortages in key industries like hospitality, administration, the arts, and health and social care." Join us in the call to protect adult education, secure better funding, and ensure a brighter future for all - https://lnkd.in/enC5QYAD Read Dipa Ganguli OBE's (Principal and CEO of WM College and Chair of HOLEX) full opinion piece on how adult education can bridge North London's skills gap and help uplift our community in Camden New Journal this week, on page 19 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dj68UjdS Mayor of London London Borough of Camden Department for Education Samata Khatoon Khatoon HOLEX #AdultEducation #SkillsGap #NorthLondon #WMCollege #LifelongLearning #Camden #CamdenNewJournel

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming back the inspiring volunteers and Tessa from the Hackney Mosaic Project! Our talented Level 2 Illustration learners presented their incredible designs and received valuable feedback as they prepare for an exciting live brief: transforming one of their concepts into a large mosaic piece celebrating WM College’s 170th anniversary. In the coming weeks, learners will pitch their ideas to a panel, with one design selected for the final transformation. We are so proud of what they have created so far and can’t wait to see the chosen piece come to life! Stay tuned for updates on this inspiring collaboration 💛 #HackneyMosaicProject #CreativeJourney #MosaicArt #WMCollege #ArtEducation #CreativeCollaboration

These cuts risk 80,000+ learners losing access to courses and could lead to 3,000 job losses. As HOLEX Chair, Dipa Ganguli OBE calls on the government to reverse these cuts and protect adult education, which is key to building a skilled workforce, supporting mental health, and boosting the economy.
