Our multi-media method of learning offers ultimate flexibility as students study in their own time and at their own pace. Founded in 1894, we’re the world’s most experienced homeschooling provider. We’re proud to say that one of our students was Nelson Mandela, who studied for his London University law degree with Wolsey Hall whilst in Robben Island jail – a true inspiration to home learners everywhere! The Wolsey Hall learning system is a carefully balanced mix of online and offline study which we have developed based on our many years’ experience of delivering courses. You can study from anywhere in the world and your child will be supported by a Student Progress Manager throughout. They are always on hand to answer your questions, give advice and help to keep your child’s studies on track. Our aim is to provide the best possible online learning experience for our students worldwide. We believe that learning should be enjoyed, and so we design our courses to be as engaging as possible, without any loss of academic rigour.

    • A Wolsey Hall Oxford review on Trustpilot which reads; The course materials were great and the tutors were very helpful, who were always available when my child needed support. We had a great experience especially with our student manager. She was very attentive and supportive. She understood our situation well (travelling etc) and gave us the necessary advices promptly. When we needed a specific document urgently, they attended to our request immediately and handled it professionally.
    • A screenshot of a Wolsey Hall Oxford review on Trustpilot which reads; We're glad we ultimately went the Wolsey route. The flexibility of homeschooling suited us perfectly, the course materials are of high quality, and SPM Kristina and the tutors are a delight to work with. Contrary to our initial reservations, homeschooling with Wolsey actually helped our daughter become a more independent, confident, and disciplined student, things which will help her immensely when she goes to university.
    • A screenshot of a Wolsey Hall Oxford review on Trustpilot which reads; We are really enjoying the Wolsey Hall experience! It's so professionally run and the course work is fun and engaging. The tutors are all superb and so encouraging. Our daughter is new to the UK curriculum having been home schooled in Portugal all of her life. (By law she had to follow the Portuguese curriculum) she's absorbing the content so fast and still has lots of free time for her ballet and farm animals.
    • A screenshot of a Wolsey Hall Oxford review on Trustpilot which reads; We just loved home educating with Wolsey Hall. The way it is structured and the support from the tutors made it easy to keep track but also gave us freedom.
    • A screenshot of a Wolsey Hall Oxford review on Trustpilot which reads; We totally recommend Wolsey Hall Oxford. Very professional, high quality material, well organized and easy to follow. We're having a very positive experience. We're so grateful for all the help and support from our SPM Naouele McHugh and our tutors Jen Etherton and Alice Darke. Thank you all for the great work!

  • Traditional school doesn’t work for every child ❌ Many of our students come to us for similar reasons as cited in recent news on homeschooling figures in England – including school-related anxiety (bullying, stress, SEN), preferring to work at their own pace (gifted students, elite athletes and performers) and alternative lifestyles (travelling, better educational opportunities). We’re not surprised that more families who need something different from a traditional education are choosing to homeschool. And we believe this trend will only continue as parents discover there are other options available, such as online schools, to help their child unleash their full potential. • Congratulations to our primary student Bintang, on her new book: Burps and Farts! 📚 The book tells the story of a girl who has a stomachache because she didn't eat her breakfast, and how she deals with the impact of burping and farting all day long. What's more, Bintang has written the story in two languages - English and Japanese! Bintang told us: “There were many new ideas that led to me writing this book, mainly the activities outside of of my studies - most of all, writing!” Our online communities and competitions encourage our homeschooling students to explore their talents outside of their studies. Our Creative Writing Club gives them the opportunity to test out their writing skills, with a different theme every month. Well done Bintang 👏 #StudentAchievement #HomeSchooling #OnlineSchool #Extracurricular #CreativeWriting #Education

  • Home education isn’t a second-rate form of schooling. For families who struggle with the mainstream system, it can be life-changing. 🏡 Whether it’s travelling families who need consistency in education, gifted children who need to learn at a more advanced level, or elite athletes or performers who can’t stick to a set schedule – traditional school simply doesn’t work for everyone. With the support of an online school like Wolsey Hall Oxford, students learning from home can get a world-class education that works for them, in ways the traditional classroom can’t provide. Giving them the foundations they need to unleash their potential, and open the doors to a successful future 🚀 Full article in the comments 🔗 Do you think people are being 'forced' into home education? Or does it instead need to be seen more widely as a viable alternative for children who struggle in the traditional school environment? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below 👇 #Homeschooling #HomeEducation #School #AlternativeEducation #Learning #OnlineLearning #Education

  • Do you know what’s misleading about this article? ➡️ Just because a child is ‘out of school’ does not mean they are missing out on education. 🏫 A school in the traditional sense is just a building… …but learning can happen anywhere. 🌍 We have thousands of students, not just in the UK but around the world, who are getting a world-class Cambridge education with us from the comfort of their own homes, from Primary all the way to A Level. Because traditional school doesn’t work for everyone: ❌ SEN students can find it hard to cope in crowded, chaotic classrooms ❌ Bullying and anxiety can destroy a child’s mental health ❌ Travelling students can struggle to keep up with their learning ❌ Children with promising careers in sports or performing arts can struggle to study to a set schedule For these children, home education with an online school like Wolsey Hall Oxford can give them a life-changing chance of an outstanding, 100% personalised education. Meaning they can get the best start for them. 🎓 What matters from the Education Policy Institute research cited in The Guardian article are the children who are genuinely missing out on learning opportunities – and not being electively home educated outside the traditional school environment. We welcome the move from the government towards building a better register of children out of the traditional school setting, as this will bring clarity around the support needed for families struggling to access any form of education. But homeschooling children must not be confused with those receiving no education at all. What do you think? Do you agree that we need to change the language around children being educated outside the traditional school setting? Let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment below. 🔁Make sure to SHARE this post with your network to help us start making this happen. #Homeschooling #HomeEducation #School #AlternativeEducation #Learning

  • A new report, released today by the UK National Audit Office has revealed that while funding for SEN provision in schools has risen by 58% over the last 10 years – families and children are still struggling to get the support they need to reach their full potential. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e-XG-z8n Ensuring SEN pupils have access to the guidance, resources and tools they need to succeed is vital to ensuring everyone gets the best learning experience. Some families find that opting for home education as an alternative to mainstream schooling helps boost their child’s chances for the future – like Claire, who shares her story in the article above. In fact, 1/5 of our students chose to study with us because their SEN meant they struggled in a traditional classroom environment. Our pupil-led learning system means they can study at their own pace – with access to a range of materials and resources that help them learn in a way that works for them. And our team of expert wellbeing tutors are also on hand to provide tailored advice and support.
