Wherever you are, come rain or... more rain ☔️ This month, we visited Samworth Farms near Nottingham to provide product support on their new investment: a Samson PGII 28 HPD Tanker, weighing in at over 13 tonne per axle and now fitted with the astounding Alliance VF800/60R32 Agriflex 389 tyres. The use of #VF tyres in this application gives the operator much more flexibility in load carrying capacity and inflation pressure to maximise performance & soil protection. At TIA Agri, we use the highest quality technical equipment to support our customers through the life of the tyres they buy from us. Since farmers are reporting the wettest pre-Spring season in almost 150 years, optimising machinery on the land is crucial. Here, we used 2 WOMAG heavy duty wireless scales, giving us the ability to work quickly onsite. If there is a disparity in load bearing from one side of the machine to the other (which, in this case was up to half a tonne difference), we can give recommendations per wheel position; something that can’t be achieved by using a weigh bridge. Having the knowledge and commitment to give our customers the best service possible is what sets us apart in the agricultural wholesale industry. We're excited to announce that at our AGM last week, our members confirmed our new President and Vice-President of the UKWF! Tom Marren, of WOMAG, becomes our new President. Tom has over 20 years' experience in the weighing industry and has served on the UKWF Board since 2021. Marina Campbell, of PRECIA MOLEN, is our new Vice-President. She has worked in the weighing industry since 2017, and served on the UKWF Board since 2019. Upon his election, Tom said: "As I begin my term, our Federation is stronger than ever. Our new training offer shows our deep commitment to growing skills and knowledge in the sector, as well as demonstrating that we’re looking to the future to encourage young people to develop a long-term career in weighing. We're also continuing to build our offer and services to our members. And I'm excited by the emerging opportunities for international partnership that are presenting themselves. I view it as my job as President to serve our members and to continue to drive progress and excellence within the Federation."
