At Women Working Worldwide, we’re committed to ensuring that women workers, particularly those in global supply chains, can access and claim their rights to fair treatment, safe working conditions, and equality. Women are often disproportionately affected by human rights violations, especially in sectors where exploitative practices persist. Countless children worldwide, especially girls, are victims of sexual misconduct and exploitation —which is a gross violation of their rights and a global public health problem. Sexual exploitation is also a grave aspect of human trafficking deeply impacting girls. Every girl deserves a childhood free from fear & harm. The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November is the start of 16 Days of Activism, running until Human Rights Day on 10 December. The Minns Labor Government has passed new laws to better protect victim-survivors of domestic and family violence, and I thank the tireless advocates and support services providers in our local Prospect Electorate and across Western Sydney for the incredible work they do in our community. We're investing $245.6 million to improve support for domestic and family violence victim-survivors, improve bail laws and justice system responses, and expand programs that reduce violence against women and children.
