In our final episode of the series (😢) we caught up with Kursty Groves Knight who walked us through her latest book 'Workspace Made Easy' co-authored with Neil Usher Described the book aims to demystify the 'entire workspace industry' and help 'non-expert and expert alike'. In this clip Kursty touches on something that is increasingly becoming difficult for those looking to lead workplace projects; the red hot opinion. LinkedIn is swimming with bold statements, claims and sweeping statements but if you're new to the workspace landscape how can you sort the wheat from the chaff? Well you buy the book. And listen to the podcast. Available wherever you get your podcasts, and here 👇 https://lnkd.in/eXePkewT

🚨New episode alert!🚨 We've got a brand new episode of the, now award winning podcast (we've still got a few weeks of saying that haven't we?). This week is the fourth episode of our series talking to the folk that made the The Workplace Event's Top 50 Workplace Leaders 2024 list. In this one we spoke to Naomi Sakamoto, AIA, Caroline Pontifex and Dr Dan Wakelin. We ask them about their careers, their thoughts on what's changed and what we need to change. Naomi came out with this absolute zinger about how we consider workplace design, how we measure it, and we're here for that! Series 3 | Episode 17 - Workplace Leaders #4 - available now. You know how Chris Moriarty often talks about Workplace Geeks being the 'soon-to-be award-winning podcast'. Well....... ....it is now an award-winning podcast! Last night, we joined the team at Mitie, who entered the Science of Service podcast (which we hosted and produced) for a prestigious The Drum B2B award. And we only went and won! We were surrounded by marketing teams from some of the world's leading agencies and brands, so we were in good company. The series has now passed the 100k download mark and continues to grow. It was great fun going behind the scenes with the Mitie team and talking about some of the key issues impacting the sector. Lovely team to work with, and amazing what they achieved in spreading the word and getting engagement with the content. 👏👏 To check it out visit: https://lnkd.in/dDNM77ga

Believe it or not, today's episode is our 50th (woot woot 🎉). And we're delighted to have been joined by Gemma Dale and Hannah Wilson (at last) to discuss their co-authored paper exploring the relationship between hybrid work and wellbeing. In it, we unpack how hybrid work can both boost and negatively impact well-being based on employees' choices with the time they gain. We explore cool theories like Job Demand-Resources (JDR) and discuss why organisations need to pull up their socks to support healthy work practices when they adopt a hybrid approach. Special shout-out to friend of the show Matt Tucker who also co-authored this one. And we were joined in the reflection section by Magenta Associates senior content content stratigest Simon Iatrou and some seagulls. We're back with another episode in our series speaking to The Workplace Event's Top 50 Workplace Leaders list. In this episode, we caught up with Nicola Morris (ISS A/S), Alistair Scott CIWFM, MIET (Integrated Estate Management Ltd) and Stephanie Welch (Arup). One of the questions we asked all of the Top 50 leaders was 'what has changed since you entered the industry'. Here Nicola talks about how there seems to be a much stronger move to partnerships in the world of outsourcing. With all the hysteria about AI and it stealing jobs it's probably worth speaking to folk who are totally immersed in how technology and the future of work intersect. Step forward Ella Hafermalz and Jana Retkowsky and their dive into the role that Chat GPT has played in changing work practises. What do people use it for? And why? This research was quick out of the blocks when Chat GPT exploded into our lives and a year later they're ready to publish their findings (that's RAPID in academic terms). And they joined Chris and Ian to discuss what they found and the implications. Like this snippet that connected the adoption of AI and the shift to hybrid work. That's what we like to see on the podcast, dot-connecting! Thanks to the folks at WORKTECH Academy for highlighting this research, and Kasia Maynard for joining us in the Reflection Section! Remember to listen and share your thoughts and reflections. https://lnkd.in/et-7ut8B
