At #IndiaEnergyWeek 2025, Charlotte Morton OBE, WBA Chief Executive, joined a high-level panel discussion on "The Role of Non-Grain-Based #Biofuels in India’s #EnergyTransition" as part of the Global Biofuels Alliance meeting. The session marked the launch of the Joint Statement on Sustainable Biofuels, affirming biofuels (including #biogas) as a key pillar of #decarbonisation and a critical driver of a clean, just, and inclusive energy transition. The statement also recognises their role in tackling #ClimateChange, enhancing #EnergySecurity, and building a more resilient global #EnergySystem. Moderated by Dr. Rahool S. Pai Panandiker, Managing Director & Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) the panel featured global energy leaders Roberto Bocca (World Economic Forum), Mary Burce Warlick (International Energy Agency (IEA)), and Pankaj Kumar Jain (Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India). With India leading the way in biofuels ambition, now is the time to scale up biogas to support energy security, sustainability, and economic growth. 🗣️ If you're at India Energy Week 2025, connect with us to explore the future of biogas in India’s energy transition. The Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) is the global benchmark for measuring corporate emissions, yet it currently misses a crucial piece of the decarbonisation puzzle: #EnvironmentalAttributeCertificates for renewable gaseous fuels like #biomethane. Without this recognition, businesses cannot fully account for their emissions reductions, slowing investment in renewable gaseous fuels and delaying progress toward net zero. That’s why WBA and industry leaders are saying #LetGreenGasCount in a joint letter calling for the urgent recognition of market-based mechanisms for all renewable gaseous fuels such as biomethane. And we need your support... 🖊 Add your voice. Read and co-sign the letter today: https://lnkd.in/eXz2Dk2j 🗣️ Join the conversation! We’re also hosting a webinar on how biomethane can play its rightful role in the GHG Protocol: 📅 10 February | ⏰ 16:00–17:30 CET 🔗 Register here: https://lnkd.in/essXWdsp A big thank you to our partners: The Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA), Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas, Eurogas and European Biogas Association for their collaboration. Together, we can ensure #AnaerobicDigestion and #Biogas receive the recognition they deserve as essential solutions to urgent sustainability crises. #LetGreenGasCount #Biomethane #GHGProtocol #RenewableGas #NetZero #ClimateAction

Great to visit the #CBG(#biomethane) plant in Muzaffarnagar owned by INDIAN POTASH LIMITED. The 10 TPD plant operates with press mud (also called filter cake) - a by product of the sugar cane juice filtration process. It retains residual sugars and organic material, making it a valuable and viable feedstock for the anaerobic digestion. It was a productive visit with Mr Lokesh Kumar,Unit Head, Dr Dilip Kumar Khare, Former Senior Advisor MNRE, and my colleague Mr Kuljit Singh Popli WBA India Country Director and Former CMD ARDA. Exciting to see the plant’s significant potential for further improvement, which can be unlocked through the forthcoming International Anaerobic Digestion Certification Scheme. 📣Get in touch to discuss solutions to the complex challenges affecting your biogas facilities. 💡 #MakingBiogasHappen 💡 मेकिंग बायोगैस हैपन 🇮🇳 Find out more about the International Anaerobic Digestion Certification Scheme: https://lnkd.in/eBeWB87P #MakingBiogasHappen #biogas #anaerobicdigestion #adplant #adoperator #india #biogasplant #IndiaEnergyWeek2025
