The World Energy Council is looking for this generation’s brightest minds to join the Council’s Future Energy Leaders programme. Successful applicants will be part of a global network of peers and colleagues, have the opportunity to attend Council events including the World Energy Congress, and contribute their professional experience and viewpoints to the Council's Insights reports and tools. The platform engages a select number of ambitious young professionals to participate in the Council's programmes as well as contribute to national, regional and international activities and events. Intergenerational dialogue plays a key role in accelerating clean and inclusive energy transitions. This understanding is why the World Energy Council established the “Energy Leaders Group” in 1983 as a forum for young energy professionals to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and develop their skills. By 1995, the programme was renamed to the “Future Energy Leaders program” to better reflect the Council’s desire to identify and nurture the next generation of energy leaders from around the globe. Alumni have gone on to produce impactful, sustainable energy solutions in their fields of expertise and further our mission and values. Future Energy Leaders serve as an integral part of our “how to” community, fostering and sustain new and effective modes of cooperation in this critical era of energy demands, and encompass 65 different countries. Last year, we welcomed 49 new Future Energy Leaders to the programme.
