In our latest Insight Article, Martin Howell explores the idea of creating a Smart Transport Generation in England and Wales - a generation that embraces and engages in all forms of transport with confidence. "There is already ample evidence that car ownership is less important to young people today than it has been in the past – particularly in urban areas. Effectively, we are pushing against the proverbial open door, if we want to seize the opportunity for generational change." Read more here https://bit.ly/4fKJGxs

  • Our take on the budget 👇 Asiya Jelani (Business Development Director, Worldline UK&I) "We welcome Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ announcement that the government is securing delivery of a number of rail projects. While discussions around the feasibility of long-term funding for rail services and infrastructure are important, we must not overlook the future needs of the rail workforce. Incorporating workforce development into investment plans will better position the sector to meet future challenges. With many skilled workers nearing retirement, it is crucial to attract and nurture new talent while also focusing on upskilling and reskilling the current workforce. Rail can be an attractive industry from a tech innovation standpoint, yet we need to improve how we promote it to both prospective and existing talent. Technology has a vital role to play in elevating the rail customer experience, which to date has been mostly fragmented and, to many people, confusing. Introducing end-to-end digital solutions that streamline travel will be key to revitalising the rail sector and restoring public confidence..." Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ehcw3RQG
