The Menopause Dilemma: When Desperation Meets Misinformation Meets Fear Mongering The recent BBC Panorama investigation into menopause treatment has shed light on the desperate need for effective menopause treatment, adequate safeguarding when prescribing and more work to get correct and "whole picture" information to the masses to prevent fear mongering. Menopause is thankfully high on the current agenda and access to treatment is improving but lack of training to medics, patients self-diagnosing and a supplement industry rubbing its hands together seeing desperate women coming, is a perfect storm. Though it's important to highlight what’s wrong with current menopause care let’s not let this documentary take us a step back to being fearful about HRT. There are some factors that I feel need to be highlighted. ⚡ Personalised care: While hormone replacement therapy (HRT) can be life-changing for many women, it's not a one-size-fits-all solution and requires careful management. ⚡️Collaborative Care: The failure to liaise with other clinicians, particularly oncologists, is alarming. Menopause care should be holistic, considering a woman's entire health profile. ⚡️The Supplement Trap: Many women, desperate for relief, are spending exorbitant amounts on supplements with little to no scientific evidence supporting their efficacy for menopause symptoms. ⚡ Systemic Failures: The popularity of private clinics like Dr. Newson's points to a larger problem – the inadequacy of menopause care within our healthcare system. ⚡ Education Gap: There's a significant lack of understanding about menopause among both the public and some healthcare providers, leading to misinformation and suboptimal care. As we move forward, it's crucial that we: 👍 Advocate for better training in menopause care from grass roots in schools right through to healthcare professionals 👍 Push for more research into safe and effective treatments 👍Encourage open dialogues about menopause to reduce stigma, fear mongering and increase awareness 👍Demand better regulation of supplements marketed for menopause relief Women deserve evidence-based, affordable personalised care during this significant life transition. It's time we bridge the gap between desperation and misinformation with solid science and compassionate, comprehensive healthcare. What has been your experience with menopause care? #WomensHealth #Menopause #HealthcareReform

Wise words but how easy is it to implement. We all have desires and dreams. Physical, emotional, financial or aspirational. But to actually realise them…That takes action. And the first step is a plan. When you become pregnant we all have dreams and desires around our birth and recovery. XENA makes it easy for you to build that plan by bringing all the information you need to one place to support birth and recovery and the next phase. We support you to take the action to achieve your goals. Though action comes from you, no one achieves their goals alone. So make sure you have the right support team around you and someone to help nudge you towards being disciplined. Thank you Dan Crompton for reinforcing this message. Thank you Parag Prasad for building an incredible business community 🙏

Celebrating XENA's first year of supporting women Today marks a significant milestone for XENA as we celebrate our first birthday! 🎉 Since launching last September, we've been on an incredible journey of growth, driven by our mission to empower women to make informed choices and help them birth and recover like the warriors they are. In just one year, we've: 😍 Welcomed a steady flow of mothers to our supportive platform 😍 Launched our user-friendly app enhancing accessibility with over 500 resources 😍 Collaborated and working with industry leaders like Zest Midwives, The MOB, and Four Mamas 😍 Built a network of inspiring XENA ambassadors 😍 Featured on BBC and several podcasts, amplifying our message Our mission at XENA goes beyond providing information; we're creating a community where women feel supported, educated, and empowered throughout their journey of womanhood. Whether it's preparing for birth, navigating postpartum recovery, or understanding the nuances of their changing bodies, we're here to guide and support. As a solopreneur, this journey hasn't been without its challenges. It's been tiring and sometimes lonely, requiring deep reserves of perseverance. But my passion for supporting women to have better birthing experiences has been the driving force behind every step. This is just the beginning. We're committed to continually evolving and expanding our services to meet the needs of mothers everywhere. Our goal is to ensure that every woman has access to the knowledge and support she needs to make informed decisions about her body, birth, recovery and beyond. To our community of mothers, partners, and supporters: thank you for being part of this journey. Your trust in XENA fuels our dedication to this mission. It is becoming clear that constant use of our phones is not beneicial to anyone. Leading by example infront of our children is important too if we are to change their habits. Its amazing how much time is wasted on SM and having better digital habits will free up more time for the things you love. Not fitting in exercise? Try a dong an early morning work out instead of picking up your phone? Struggling with overwhelm and poor sleep? Try a digital detox with set hours you can be on and off you phone. Hope your holidays weren't to over whelming... bring on the a new school year!

Bringing vacation vibes to the workplace. This image is the absolute opposite of what I was doing on holiday! Though I love her commitment to her phone, having accessories to optimise use ALL THE TIME. Having just returned from a wonderful holiday and a complete digital detox, I'm navigating my return to work with a fresh mindset. The break from constantly being on my phone and laptop has done wonders for my nervous system, and I'm determined to maintain this sense of calm even as the pace of work ramps up. Here's how I'm keeping those vacation vibes alive in my daily routine: ⚡ Mindful mornings: Starting the day with intention, not emails. ⚡ Phone-free family time: Keeping devices away when I'm with my kids. ⚡ Deep work sessions: Focusing on tasks without digital distractions. ⚡ Social media boundaries: Using it only for work purposes. ⚡ Evening wind-down: No screens after 8 pm for better sleep and relaxation. This approach has already made a significant difference in my productivity and well-being. It's a reminder that we don't need to be 'always on' to be effective. How has your return to work been? Have you found ways to bring a bit of holiday zen into your work life? Share your experiences below! #WorkLifeBalance #MindfulWork #DigitalWellness #XENAlife

Birth preparation is a very misunderstood topic. I think many people think it’s either pretty hippie (going down the hypnobirthing route- head to our website to understand about how hypnobirthing is anything but woo) or a mad dash of cramming at the end (that was me). I wish I had done more prep for my two births. My second was an elective section. Often people think they don’t need to prep for this, as well… they ‘don’t have to do anything’ but let me tell you there is so much you can prepare for. Head to XENA to uunderstand more about how you can remain in control of this highly medicalised birth making it a beautiful personalised experience. https://lnkd.in/eN6HVCqu

Today I am recording a podcast with Joii. An incredible app coming soon to #endometriosis suffers, helping them get a faster diagnosis. I have written a blog explaining how scar therapy can help endo and this is one of the videos showing how we can test for and release your diaphragm. Full scar massage programme and breathing techniques to be found on XENA LIFE app. https://lnkd.in/g-P_DbHn

How can I breath wrong you say but we tend to breath up in the upper chest meaning we are not getting the most from the diaphragm. If the muscle is only being used in part of its range it becomes tight and this can cause pain, impact your pelvic floor function and also your functional strength. Follow this

I have just returned from two amazing days at the THE BIZX- UK's Biggest Business Event, Awards & Forum . This was the third time I have been and by far the best. Each talk was as if it were created for me. To name a few topics we covered StoryBrand telling, customer journey and satisfaction, Ai integration, self belief and sales mastery. All things I am continuing to learn and master. What a steep learning curve it has been from physio to founder. Every step of the way is uncharted territory. I applied for an award this year: Best Personal Growth. Though, sadly, I didn’t not win, the process of documenting everything I have built over the last two years was a great way for me to acknowledge the effort and progress. Dame Kelly Holmes inspirational speech encouraged us to keep going, work hard and believe in your dreams. As the age old saying goes, you have to be in it to win it! Tough as it is it’s exciting- I am doing something I am truly passionate about. How many people can actually say that. One of the final things Deborah Meaden said was that ‘businesses are in the position to make changes that are much needed’ due to their ability to act fast and pivot with the demand. I still have work to do to get XENA where she needs to be to start making a real difference. But I am well on the way to offering affordable, accessible exercise and information enabling women to thrive in womanhood. Thank you to the team at ActionCOACH UK (best group coaches in the uk for 10 years straight!) Parag Prasad ,Dan Crompton , Kuldip Singh Sahota and Margarida Bonito Carvalho And the rest of the amazing action coach community for all of your support, patience and advice. And my amazing professional content creators who believed in my madness and have come along for the ride. And of course and my incredible husband Phil Norman and beautiful children supporting me every step of the way! ❤️ Onwards 💪
