Huge congratulations to my friend Ewart Richardson on winning ABTT engineering product of the year for the revolutionary (excuse the pun) new X winch, for performer flying. This is the most innovative product I’ve seen since the development of the Big TOW over 20 years ago. Do grab the chance to see it on the Open Automation stand at ABTT if you can, or get in touch with Open Automation to arrange a viewing. Excpecting to see quite a few of these around theatres over the coming years.

XM Automation will be exhibiting at ABTT show this week do come and catch up with us/have a demo on our XMove automation system on stand B72. We'll also be running hands-on demo sessions at 2:30pm on both days of the show. Also come along and hear my talk about creating open standards for automation systems at 1:30pm today. Finally, do call in on Open Automation's stand D72. There is a very clever new performer flying winch on display, designed by my friend Ewart Richardson. It is the most innovative winch design I have seen since the Big TOW over 20 years ago. Well worth a visit. Hope to see you soon
