We’re a big fan of street art and murals. But while pleasing on the eye, how many of us actually know the stories behind the art work? In our recent #Manchester photoshoot, we captured some street art on the edge of the Northern Quarter. Millions of people will pass it every year, but does it have a deeper meaning? Well it turns out, yes it does. A little research led us to find this explaination via Secret Manchester: "German street artist, Case, created this powerful mural of a troubled-looking man to highlight mental health issues. This is a topical piece of Manchester street art created for the Cities of Hope festival, aiming to raise money for worthy causes, and it stands tall as you walk towards Oldham Road from Great Ancoats Street." So while spectacular in its own right, the piece has particular meaning in a week that has seen #internationalmensday take place. Now you know. #streetart #art #murals #mentalhealth

Anyone who has sought to create a robust media relations strategy will understand that ‘PR’ goes far beyond just writing and distributing press releases. And, as one of the key services we provide to our clients, we’re always sharing our expertise on why PR is such an important tool to protect a brand’s reputation. In our latest blog, our account manager Bethany Lunt takes a deeper look into the nuances behind every business truly knowing its target media, and why relationship building is key. https://lnkd.in/eAHqsmv9 #MediaRelations #Reputation

As part of the Prolific North Agency Guide 24/25, we were asked for our views on recruitment - a subject that has always been a hot topic in our industry. We’ve now published our full (and occasionally frank 👀) thoughts on the subject. #publicrelations #recruitment #newblog https://lnkd.in/eGPehDA5

The Prolific North Agency Guide 24/25 was waiting in our postbox when we turned up at the office this morning. It’s always a great read and fun to get some profile amongst our peers here in the #North, while celebrating some of our successes as an agency. 🙌🥳 #business #profile #pr

In today’s TheBusinessDesk.com our founder Julian Pearce gives his take on the #Budget2024. Not only is it the first ever budget delivered by a female Chancellor of the Exchequer but also the first delivered by an MP representing a West Yorkshire constituency since Dennis Healey in 1979 (don’t ask how that one turned out…). #StakeholderEngagement #Politics #Communications
🚨 New article 🚨 When it comes to governments delivering their budgets, there are always winners and losers. They can’t please everybody – and the best ones don’t seek to. I’ve written my initial reaction for TheBusinessDesk.com about the influences on Rachel Reeves’ decision making, in what is the first budget statement made by a sitting West Yorkshire MP since Dennis Healey in 1979. From a personal perspective, there is much that is good about it. As a business owner, I’m not overly concerned by the rise in NI employer contributions. For SMEs there is a range of additional support out there, if you look for it, which can mitigate additional burdens. The focus of any fiscal decision making needs to be unashamedly pro-growth and I don't see any particular reason why anything that has been announced needs to be a worry for businesses at large, assuming they are making the right decisions themselves. I am disappointed to see the continued freeze on fuel duty. This is excusing inefficiency for the UK, irrespective of environmental considerations. I would have supported lifting this freeze, and using any revenue generated for upgrading the UK's EV charging infrastructure. On a similar topic, it will be a shame to see the £2 bus fare cap go (if it does, Greater Manchester for example have said they'll retain it). Seeing the queues at bus stops in Leeds when biking home the other day, it seems bus travel is really booming in the West Yorkshire district. #Business #Growth #Politics #Yorkshire #Budget https://lnkd.in/e9RuAgyy

Earlier this Autumn, we wrote in Leeds-List.com about the tech industry in West Yorkshire, and how the sector could find strength and certainty in planning for the long-term. For our latest blog piece, we’ve revisited the theme, to add a little commentary around why every tech leader should extend employment opportunities to all. Tonight, our founder Julian Pearce will be spending an uncomfortable night sleeping outside at Headingley Stadium in aid of three amazing causes. Every year, the business community turns out in force to support The Big Sleep, in aid of St. George's Crypt, Leeds Rhinos Foundation and St. Gemma's Hospice. These three organisations do an enormous amount of good in our home city. A donation of any size would be much appreciated.
I’d be very grateful if you could take two minutes to read this update and perhaps consider a donation towards three amazing causes who all do great work in our city. For the second year running, I’ll be joining the team at Eversheds Sutherland in sleeping out under the stars (or more likely rain) at Headingley Stadium this coming Thursday. 🏉 The Big Sleep is an annual event which raises money, but also awareness, for three incredible charities supporting important issues of our time. St. George’s Crypt is a Leeds charity providing help and hope for the homeless and vulnerable in the city. Leeds Rhinos Foundation is the official charity of the Leeds Rhinos, harnessing the power of sport to change lives. St. Gemma's Hospice provides care, compassion and support for those affected by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. I have a huge amount of respect for all three of these entities. Donations will be split equally between these deserving causes, who do invaluable work in our region and within our communities. The discomfort the team and I have to put up with on Thursday will be small change when compared to what those who are helped by these three organisations go through on a daily basis, so please do give what you can. 🙏 https://lnkd.in/e5D3nnbJ

Yasper is one year old today! 🥳 We’ll be keeping the celebrations low-key, but are enjoying some cupcakes with our good friends and colleagues at Umpf in between a new business pitch and client meetings. It’s been a great start to our life as an agency, perhaps we’ll write about what we’ve learnt in an upcoming blog piece…. #AgencyLife #Business #BusinessGrowth

Earlier this year, we commissioned our second architectural photo shoot and we're now ready to share the resulting images. Our long-time photography collaborator David Lindsay braved several weather-aborted attempts at getting this shoot completed, but when he finally got there one early summer morning, he totally lucked-out. #Yasper x #Manchester. It was worth the wait. Follow our instagram (@yasper_agency), which will now focus on the city for the coming months and see more on our latest blog post: https://lnkd.in/gP4B87XH #Architecture #Manchester #Skyline #CityScapes
