📢Very excited to announce the launch of our 'Operational #Toolkit: Combatting #ModernSlavery in the #BuiltEnvironment'! 🏗️🛠️ After much collaboration and hard work, this toolkit aims to empower anyone involved in #SiteManagement or #SiteSetUp with actionable insights and resources to manage and mitigate the #risks of modern slavery and #LabourExploitation. ⚠️It focuses in on 6 key risks, including workers being unaware of their basic #entitlements, workers not knowing how, or even why, they should report any concerns, lapses in #security and vetting, and businesses not being set up to deal with suspicions of slavery or labour exploitation. 🪜It provides key steps to manage and mitigate these risks, and signposts to resources to help. It includes straightforward steps that can make a big difference - whether you're an #SME or a larger business. 📣It’s Anti-Slavery week 14-20 October and myself and amazing Action Sustainability #ModernSlavery colleagues Anna Cantwell and Will Glover will be taking on different physical challenges to raise money for Ride For Freedom - a fantastic, inspiring organisation making a real difference in the fight against modern slavery. I can’t run anymore as apparently it will make my eyesight worse (??!!) and I have knee issues, which stops me from cycling. So swimming is one of the only options left - so that’s good...except I can’t go under water without holding my nose, and I feel claustrophobic with goggles. So a 10k swim over the week is a proper CHALLENGE for me! Bring it on.
