🌟 What a fantastic year 2024 has been, thank you all! 🌟 Leaving 'employed-life' to become self-employed was both daunting and exhilarating, but I am so glad I took the leap! 2024 at Cornwall’s Rewind Radio: A Year of Growth, Challenges, and Community Spirit As we approach the end of 2024, I’ve found myself reflecting on what has been a truly transformative year for Cornwall’s Rewind Radio. It started with its challenges—like any growing business, we’ve navigated transitions, welcomed new faces, and said goodbye to others. But through it all, one constant has remained: the belief in the power of supporting people, whether they’re joining us on the journey or moving on to new chapters. This year has been a testament to the strength of community, both within our team and across Cornwall. The support I’ve received from the incredible business community has been invaluable, reminding me that we’re never truly alone when facing challenges. And, of course, I owe so much to the unwavering encouragement of my family, who make the long days and late nights not just manageable, but meaningful. One of the highlights of the year was Radiothon 2024, where we came together as a station and as a community to raise an incredible £27,300 for causes close to our hearts. It was a moment of pure magic, proving yet again the power of radio to unite and inspire. We’ve also had the privilege of participating in some fantastic events that truly showcased the spirit of Cornwall: from the Launceston Show and Boconnoc Steam Fair to the Royal Cornwall Show and Flora Day. Spanning the entire county, these events reminded us why we love what we do and where we live. I want to take a moment to thank the entire team at Cornwall’s Rewind Radio—you are the heartbeat of this station, and none of this would be possible without your dedication, creativity, and passion. Finally, I’m deeply grateful for the privilege of living and working in such a stunning part of the world. Cornwall isn’t just a place; it’s a way of life. Yesterday I attended the Your Partnerships Christmas lunch at Boringdon Park Golf Club. It was only the second networking event that I have ever attended, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was lovely to be welcomed by organisers David Brock and Warren D'Souza and to be introduced to Dr Johanneke Kodde, Emma Cole, Ben Brill, Theresa Benson, Paul Benson, CLAIRE KNOECHL, Glenn Wrigley and many more lovely people. It was also great to reconnect with local network colleagues Sally Cope and Kevin Cope. I hope that everyone that I met has a lovely Christmas when it arrives, and I look forward to seeing you again in 2025.

What an honour. I had an appointment to take the wife's Kia to the good people of Hawkins Motor Group for a service. Those that know me know I will of course take my laptop and work while I am waiting and at Hawkins Centre in St. Stephens that is a nice thing to do as they have a great little cafe just past the showroom. I was there doing a little work and catching up on those last few phone calls before I knew normal people switched off for the Christmas break when a man stood next to the table I as at and it was none other than the owner Mr. Hawkins whom I have only met one other time in my life. I was blown away when he wanted to shake my hand and thank me for the help that I and Your Partnerships offer the local business community. He also asked me if I would be okay to help him draw the first tickets in a charity raffle that Hawkins Motor Group were doing to help aid Children's Hospice South West, Merlin-Cornwall's Neuro Therapy Centre, CORNWALL AIR AMBULANCE TRUST and Cornwall Hospice Care. So I just dropped by to get a service on a car and ended up with an early Christmas gift as Mr. Hawkins and I shared a few minutes talking about all things in business in Cornwall and beyond and our families. Thank you to Johnny Hawkins, John Hawkins, James Hawkins M.I.M.I, Miod, Steve Gee, Jason Kane, Sharon Opie, Jeremy Phillips, Drew Bradbury, David Parker, Trevor Dawes, Andrew Orchard, Charlie Springthorpe, Ricky Weston and the entire Hawkins Motor Group Family. Bless you for all you do to help so many and looking forward to an amazing 2025.

Just another day in the life of Your Partnerships. I get asked all the time what is different about Your Partnerships from any other networking group and the answer is always the same. We at Your Partnerships are about community and building a true business family. We are not for everyone and we don't plan to be for everyone, but we do know all that get involved in Your Partnerships see the value of what we do to help each other. Networking has many aspects and they are in order of importance: 1. Support for your business as you build business relationships and personal friendships so you have true support on your journey. 2. A safe space to talk to other business owners so that you can sanity check what you are working on in your business and learn from others the success and failures of others. 3. A place to grow your business via sales and strategic partnerships. Many people think of networking as a place to walk in and start selling to everyone in the room and then wonder why it does not work. I once heard it said by a very wise lady Belinda Shipp who said, "Walking in a networking room and just start selling is like asking the lady at the bar you just met to marry you before the first date."
