With President-elect Donald Trump set to take office, we are watching to see how his administration will balance innovation, crypto adoption, and sustainability. The US has seen a surge in climate investment interest, something we witnessed first-hand at Climate Week NYC and in the global push for greener technology. As the crypto sector evolves, the environmental impact of digital assets remains a key topic. Europe has already seen significant developments in the crypto-asset sustainability space, not least in the incoming mandatory sustainability disclosures for crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. At Zumo, we’re tackling these challenges directly with Oxygen, our blockchain-powered solution enabling 100% renewable energy matching for blockchain activities. With MiCA-compliant features already integrated, we’re empowering CASPs to meet regulatory requirements and embrace a sustainable future. It’s also not just the digital assets sector that needs to measure, and mitigate, its carbon footprint, but adjacent tech-led sectors, too. According to recent Goldman Sachs research, artificial intelligence (AI) is now poised to drive a 160% increase in data centre power demand. We strongly believe in the transformative potential of both blockchain and AI to build a better world and drive the energy transition, but we can't ignore the vast amounts of electricity these industries consume. Innovation in these sectors must not come at the cost of our planet. 🔗 Explore more insights on the intersection of crypto, sustainability, AI and the incoming US administration in the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eJTUAV5k
