How is this acceptable and why is it sooooo common??? Done my best with this and yeah I know the DNOs like to be territorial at times but this was the best of lots of bad options. I can wear it and other installers should not be fearful of that either. This is the battle we have as installers coming to retro fit EV charging and solar. When really is a house in 2024 with a double detached garage best constructed with just a 2.5mm supply circuit to it? Is the best setup to wedge a consumer unit in the middle of the house under the stairs? That should have gone out of fashion in the 90s! What we see with outdoor switchgear is the symptom rather than cause. We need the industry of things to get that changed from the developers whom are members with them. This shouldnt be acceptable and they should be working to current editions of the wiring regulations. The get out here was designed in 2018 built in 2023/24... This isnt an ideal scenario but Ive done what I think is best in the circumstances and we will be back to make improvements and changes next spring when the solar goes in. The other issue is the quality of work. How can it be okay to have exposed copper on a live 80A cable in a meter cabinet? Outside of everything else I mean come on. #teamsparks #apprentice121

When competitors continue to spread Mis-inta mation about the standards and new regulations. You get a statement from a HIU Company like this. " If works are not completed by JULY2025 then the unit will not be compliant with the Ofgem regulations, this now goes as far as non of the apartments will be able to be signed off, let or sold unless the heat interface units are replaced with compliant models" The facts are HNTAS hasn't been through consultation yet, so the text has not been approved for release or had a commencement date to it. So the above statement by the HIU company is pure speculation. And just not true. They know its not true, its just easier to lie, than try and sell your products based on ability If you are not sure about the new regulations. Please ask Ofgem or contact Department for Energy Security and Net Zero for clarification. #engineerwizard 60x view on site drawings and manuals, I think it need increasing a little just so I can zoom deeper onto site drawings, it wouldn't be used so much on manuals but the option would be there. Keeping in mind that you would need a reasonably fast device to be able to go into that depth and then move around so there are limits but this device is an S24 Ultra. 60x zoom is more than your normal PDF viewer but increasing the zoom level to 80x or even 100x zoom will certainly come in useful for a plan the size of this one. What do you use to view your site drawings? This example is on my phone so on a tablet it will be way better. Andrew #theserviceengineer #fireandsecurity

Please repost!!! Stay clear of Phil Powe from Pro-fix pre cast. We dropped other work and even dropped the price for this scumbag, after he was begging us to come in and sort his mess out. He now thinks it's acceptable to just ignore the invoice for 2.5k and my phone calls. Eugene Crilly from EPC Civils, worked weekends to sort his mess of a job. He still owes us 5k from last August. Still trading and heard he's had a few others over. debt collectors are on to him but the way this industry works, I'll just pay more and he will get away with it. Hightown Group, 10k they owe us but they also owe 1.5 million to others. Still trading, keep clear. Greenchurch developments, after sending a bill of £950.00 which is clearly on our price list, for three men to spend 10 hours on site, upside down chasing a ceiling. They thought it's acceptable to just offer us £500.00 for the day. which isn't hard to understand that it doesn't even cover the wages. Clarkes Refurbishment, QS randomly quit and now they won't reply to my phone calls or emails. They owe us around 3.5k. Not one of the above has a defensive position. Yet they will most likely get away with the criminality they're apart of. This shit makes me hate this industry.

The Mould Paradox ‼️ easily caused and occasionally easily solved BUT it can be a complex problem and with outside factors added in it can become very difficult to resolve. Vulnerable tenants, multiple potential building defects, unreasonable tenants can all complicate the best course of action but “KPP” in your toolbox you can respond immediately and start long term protection.

IT Cleaning Ltd: Data Hall Cleaning. I have put this picture up again as I have just returned from a Data Hall Survey with a view to quoting for cleaning. As no electronic devices are allowed in the Data Hall I have put a representative picture up from a different customers site. Once again I found evidence of incorrect cleaning product used in the Data Hall. Cleaning solutions used within the data centre must not pose a threat to the hardware. Solutions that could potentially damage hardware include products that are: Ammoniated Chlorine-based Phosphate-based Bleach enriched Petro-chemical based Floor strippers and some floor re-conditioners. Data Centre professionals should always use a professional technical cleaning company. Even then always check what cleaning products they intend to use in the Data Hall. In this case a bleach based product. If its over sprayed here then it will have entered the airflow too and almost certainly ended up inside the servers etc.

The importance of daily/weekly visual checks on fire points on site.... This extinguisher will not work if needed on a fire. How long has it been like that? A number of months at least. Visual checks on any equipment is not just a box ticking excercise. You're actually doing it for a reason. This leak was a real headache to find and repair. This leak was discovered following a trace and locate inspection after a client discovered a damp problem on an external wall. Prior to our attendance, the client had an problem with the shower waste which was attended to by a local plumbing contractor. A few months after the plumbers visit a damp problem started to arise on the opposite walls. As you'll see in the footage, this is a mechanical waste coupling which was discovered on the shower waste. The coupling was actually located in the cavity of the wall, so wasn't discovered easily. It appears the original bathroom installer was just a little too lazy to replace the entire pipe and simply connected his new waste onto the old. I suspect during the plumbers recent visit where the shower waste was cleared some movement occurred resulting in the pipe and mechanical fitting parting - note the scum visible on the waste where the connection was previously. Consequentially, for the past few months each time the en-suite however was used, water cascaded the cavity causing a significant amount of dampness and damage. It's not uncommon for trades to use short cuts saving and time and money. Plumbing shortcuts however are rarely worth it. My advice is always use solvent weld waste fittings to reduce the risk of future failure.
