Role Summary
The Finance Director (must have F&B experience) is a key leadership role within a dynamic and fast-growing food and hospitality business that operates across diverse platforms, including premium dining experiences, culinary events, and innovative food-focused projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimise Financial Settlement Processes: Oversee and enhance the financial settlement process for events, markets, and other operations, ensuring timely, accurate performance reporting at the concept, unit, and event levels.
- Deliver Robust Financial Performance Reports: Prepare detailed financial performance reports for monthly business reviews and board meetings. These will include key metrics, budget vs. forecast analysis, and actionable insights to guide decision-making.
- Implement Cashflow Management: Introduce and maintain a 12-month rolling cashflow forecast, updated weekly, to ensure liquidity and support strategic initiatives.
- Lead Systems Implementation: Drive the implementation and optimisation of financial systems, providing robust cost tracking and detailed visibility into operational expenditures.
- Monitor Capital Expenditure: Track and evaluate capital expenditure, ensuring alignment with budgets and return-on-investment objectives.
- Ensure Compliance: Guarantee the timely preparation of statutory accounts, VAT returns, and other compliance-related filings.
Key Requirements
- Proven Experience in Scaling Finance Functions: Demonstrated ability to scale financial operations from startup through Series B+ funding or equivalent growth phases.
- Hands-On Systems Implementation Expertise: Strong track record of implementing and optimising financial systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Cashflow and Financial Planning: Experience managing cashflow in fast-paced, dynamic environments and delivering reliable rolling forecasts.
- Leadership and Problem-Solving: Self-starter who excels at identifying and solving complex problems independently while growing and mentoring a high-performing financial team.
- Analytical and Strategic Acumen: Strong skills in financial reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking, with the ability to provide actionable insights that drive profitability.
- Qualifications: CPA or equivalent qualification preferred, but not mandatory.
