We know that this time of year can be overwhelming for many people, whether you are celebrating Christmas or Hannukah or just taking a well earned break after a busy year, we know relaxing can be easier said than done. Thanks to the help of our HSC Wellbeing Champion Emma Simms, we have put together some tips on maintaining good mental health and positive wellbeing throughout the winter period. We will be sharing more tips in January for the January blues if you have any advice for either period, leave them in the comments below! ❄️ Take time for yourself - Ensure that you get some me time! Maybe go for a walk, take a bath, read a book or do something small for you. ❄️ Set your boundaries - Take time to step out when you need. This time can be overwhelming and overstimulating so its good to take a break before it becomes too much. ❄️ You don’t have to do everything - Where possible, try to include as much of your normal routine as possible. Things such as alternative sleeping patterns can have an effect on your mental health. ❄️ Try out something new - Maybe a new hobby, craft or tradition, either alone or with your loved ones ❄️ Look after your health and body - It's easy to jump into the festive spirit with eating and drinking but its important to look after yourself. Maybe take a festive walk to ensure you stay moving and exercising. ❄️ Remember, if you are struggling, don’t suffer in silence. If you can't speak with Friends or Family, reach out to a support service such as Samaritans (116 123) or Mind (0300 123 3393) who are on hand throughout the festive period - There is always someone here for you. #FestivePeriod #Wellbeing #Tips #Support #MentalHealth #HealthyMind

The Access Foundation donated £2.18 million through 119 grants over its last financial year, helping to address digital poverty. The digital divide remains a pressing issue in the UK, impacting lives and limiting opportunities. "As we look to the future, our focus will be on continuing to support charities, organisations, and community groups that deliver meaningful change – not just across the UK, but on an international scale as well." - Piers McLeish, co-founder of The Access Foundation Read more: https://ow.ly/pWML50UtUMT #WeAreAccess #DigitalPoverty #Charity
