🌟 Celebrating a milestone for Midlands businesses! 🌟 Our Midlands Engine Investment Fund II has reached an incredible milestone, investing over £17m in just nine months! 🚀 This funding has supported 70 diverse businesses, ranging from manufacturers to tech innovators. An additional £10m of private investment has been invested alongised —bringing the total to £27 million for the region. We are proud to support the growth of smaller businesses across the region, helping them scale, innovate, and drive economic progress. Allyson Martin, the founder of Bloomery, believes in working with the environment and doesn't use non-biodegradable oasis-type floral foam, which can’t be composted or recycled, in her designs. Her Cotswolds-based business looks to support local growers wherever possible to help the local economy and cut down on carbon emissions.

🌿 The Green Life Pantry, based in Lincolnshire, has taken steps to be one of the small businesses helping to drive progress in the UK’s journey to net zero. 💪 Jenny Salvidge founded the zero-waste store in 2019 and took out a Start Up Loan of £12,000 in the same year. ➡️ Warwickshire based music company, Totally RAD Music has secured a £100k investment from our Midlands Engine Investment Fund II. 💪🏻The investment will support the development of Totally RAD’s new online platform and enable the company to expand its services to adult learners at all skill levels, from beginners to experienced musicians. 🌟Totally RAD currently employs eight staff at its headquarters in Leamington and expects to create five new jobs in the year ahead. 🔗 Read more here: https://bit.ly/48BYLPA #Investment #Midlands #FundingNews

A two-time breast cancer survivor Alexandra Perry found it difficult to find attractive post-surgery bras after her operations and she realised she wasn't the only one. With a Start Up Loan from First Enterprise - Enterprise Loans, she started H.E.R Bodywear to bring post-surgery bras that are medically approved and designed to enhance women's confidence to the market. "Since I founded my business I have received tremendous support and have been able to share my story across multiple platforms. To be chosen as the Ambassador for the East Midlands as an example as a success from the Start Up Loans programme is flattering - I am excited to see what’s next for my business," says Alexandra.

Laura Suominen, the founder of Ikigai, an eco-conscious and Japanese-inspired homeware store is one of our Start Up Loans’ 2024 Ambassadors ✨ Laura Suominen took a leap to pursue her passion for Japanese culture and opened a homeware store Ikigai, which means ‘finding true passion and joy’. Running a business has been just that for her 💪 With a Start Up Loan from BizBritain she bought a company vehicle, developed a new website and further increased the inventory of items for the store.
