Spotlight on Broadgate: A Journey Through Time 🌟 Broadgate, British Land's 32-acre campus in the heart of London, has been a cornerstone of London's office landscape. As an ever-evolving landmark destination, we wanted to spotlight a few moments in Broadgate history that have been instrumental to its development. 🏗️1987: The Beginning Delivery of the initial phases of Broadgate, marking the largest office development in London at the time. The ambitious project transformed the area around Liverpool Street Station, setting new standards for commercial architecture. 👏1999: British Land & Broadgate The acquisition of Broadgate was officially completed, with the aim to drive forward the estate's development. 🏢2008: Broadgate Tower The completion of the 538-foot Broadgate Tower added a striking landmark to the London skyline. This modern marvel provided over 820,000 sq ft of commercial space, further cementing Broadgate's status as a go-to destination for workspace in the City. 📈2015: Growth and Scale British Land initiated a 10-year plan to transform Broadgate into the mixed-used campus it is today, combining a community of premium workspace with the UK's most exciting retailers and hospitality. 🌱 2020: Sustainability Milestone The redevelopment of 100 Liverpool Street achieved a low carbon status and BREEAM Outstanding, showcasing how Broadgate is setting a benchmark for sustainability standards in the industry. 🌳2021: Exchange Square Reopens Showcasing British Land's commitment to creating greener spaces, a new 1.5 acre park for central London opens behind Liverpool Street Station. 👉2024: The transformation of Broadgate has delivered 4.5 million sq ft of best-in-class workspace and 1 million sq ft of retail and leisure to create a destination campus elevating every day.
