An engaging, informative and well attended event took place yesterday, hosted by the Midlands Branch at University of Birmingham. Verity Wadesmith presented the recently launched project with National Highways, Geotechnical and Drainage Management Service (GDMS) showcasing the enhanced management of geotechnical and drainage data to improve decision-making and investment planning. Holger Kessler presented the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR), a digital map of underground assets in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which will improve the efficiency and safety of the way we install, maintain, operate and repair our buried infrastructure by providing secure access to data from over 600 public and private sector asset owners.
