How often have your career goals changed? "You don't need to have 'the goal' in mind, just have 'a goal' in mind" This was the thing that stood out for me in my chat with Adyen's Global Head of Legal, Leslie O'Callaghan. Leslie started her legal career in a smaller firm in California advising start ups, before working in a large institutional bank at Wells Fargo and then jumping back into the Tech space at Adyen. The moves have all made complete sense but I can see how her goals have changed along the way. Leslie recently relocated to Amsterdam (Adyen's Headquarters) to take on the Global role. She is actually even newer here than I am! Tune into the video below and hear more about Leslie's career and her journey and plans with Adyen! You can also catch the audio on your favourite streaming platform!!

If during an Interview process you discuss and agree hybrid working, please don't expect that to be written into your employment contract! We recently had a candidate reject an offer based on what was written in the employment contract which did not detail flexible working. Everything was agreed with the Hiring Manager, but this wasn't enough for the candidate. You cannot expect remote working to be guaranteed in their contracts. However, an open-minded manager who values flexibility can make all the difference. In our latest episode of Lessons I Learned in Law Podcast, I speak with Lucie Grant, Vice President and Global General Counsel at Dura-Line. Lucie has successfully navigated the challenges and benefits of remote working, especially in a global organisation. Her insights are invaluable for understanding how to thrive in today's dynamic work environment. Lucie also shares her remarkable career journey—from an intellectual property litigator to senior legal roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific and BAE Systems, and now as the first female VP and General Counsel at Dura-Line. She discusses increasing female representation, the importance of mentoring, and balancing professional success with personal wellbeing. This episode is a must-listen for in-house lawyers and anyone looking to excel in the legal profession. #RemoteWork #FlexibleWorking #LegalLeadership #CareerGrowth #DiversityAndInclusion #Mentorship #InHouseLawyer
