How do you spend your time on your Tableau projects? Are you making a difference or just getting by? For those of us who use Tableau to support our business, Steve's take here is spot on, yes there is so much information out there to help us improve our skills and build better dashboards, but its hard to find a systematic approach to make it happen. Whether its Design, Development or Delivery, we have your back and can help people build better products in less time, by focussing on supporting their needs whatever their role in the process. We provide so much more than formal training, we coach, inform and deep dive into Dashboard issues with plans adapted to today's challenges. Get in touch and we can provide a structure and plan to make a difference in 2025.

Tableau Trainers and Enablement teams: Get with the program!! In a poll I ran here that closed this weekend, only 26% of people spent most of their time in the development of the first draft. (See attached.) Does your training and enablement program reflect that? How much time do you spend on your programs outside the pure technical stuff? Yes, I love to teach the Order of Operations, Level of Details, Table Calculations, Dynamic Zone Visibility, Set Actions, Parameter Actions and …yes Viz Extensions…!!! …and all the rest….bring them on !! But we need a balance in our programs when helping people build better products in less time, by focussing on supporting their needs in the 1st and 3rd stages of the 3D’s of dashboard building projects as well: 1️⃣ Design (Needs: Turbo Charged Build) 2️⃣ Develop (:Fast Track Learning) 3️⃣ Delivery (:Quality Confidence) In last weeks presentation at #DataFam Europe I was honoured to take the stage with Steve Yates. I briefly ran through the 9 steps that we iterate through with Steve, his team of Tableau experts and their wider community of Tableau creators, as well as with the other members in my Tableau Insight Community (TIC™️). I thought you might like to see the slides here so that you can think about these steps in your programs too ,so I’ve taken a snippet from that presentation and attached it so you can steal those steps for your self. Today I kick off with another cohort of my flagship Tableau Training on Tap Fast Track course (TToT FT™️) to get people up to speed on everything you need to get up and running with Tableau in the quickest time possible. This fits into Pillar 2 of the 3D’s. (Sorry, you’re too late to join us this time!!) Next month I have a training workshop on Visual Analytics Best Practices which sits in Pillar 3 of the 3D’s. And I will be delivering further workshops next year to double down on these pillars as well as Pillar 1, where most people spend most of their time. Training courses are only one part of the enablement blueprint of course and I complement them with Training Webinars that focus on skills in specific areas (see ⬆️ above for examples) and our weekly community sessions where we troubleshoot and help people deliver Powerful Dashboards by transitioning the theory to practice on real-life projects, demands and issues they have. And of course we have a #Slack channel for fast feedback and ideas sharing. So, in a blatant attempt to engage with you on LinkedIn… (…may the LinkedIn engagement gods bless me today while I focus in on my delegates…) …let me know what other parts of the blueprint you provide (or need) that you feel would give(s) most value… …and I will personally jump on this post later on today and get back to you… === Steve “Program” Adams | VizDJ.com (PS - if you want to get on the waitlist for our Visual Analytics Best Practice workshop in December, drop me a “VABP” in the comments and I’ll reserve a spot for you.)
