Named one of EY's Entrepreneurial Winning Women, Keynote Speaker/Women's Health Advocate/Founder @ Sipology | We make Matcha taste great!
🌟 Reflecting on My Journey with EY 🌟 11 years ago, I was honored to be inducted into the EY Winning Women program alongside incredible leaders like Kathy Cheng from Redwood Classics Apparel and Kristen Gale from @thetenspot Fast forward to 8 years ago, Sipology was a finalist in the innovation category, and these events have been pivotal in shaping my journey. The EY community has been nothing short of amazing. The mentorship and guidance we've received, especially from Tiki Cheung, CPA, CA, CBV, MAcc have been invaluable. Yesterday I joined my fellow EY and Women Presidents Organization for a session with Gina Mollicone-Long! Amazing speaker and lots of takeaways. The last few years have been challenging – navigating COVID, adapting to new consumer behaviors, and overcoming my own mental and physical health struggles. But I'm thrilled to share that Sipology is now on a major growth trajectory! Why? Because I'm always looking ahead, constantly observing, reading, and anticipating what's next. That's why we recently transitioned our entire system to Shopify , a project that's been in the works for 8 months. This change has literally transformed our business overnight. In a few weeks, I'm off to Palm Springs for the EY Growth Summit, and I couldn't be more excited. Why? Because it's a fantastic time to be a manufacturer! We hold all the power – we're not just manufacturers, but also the innovation hub, the marketing arm, and the distribution center. People are craving our expertise, and with over 30 products approved by Health Canada and the FDA, our proprietary recipes are in high demand. As Hatem always says, "Buckle up, get your helmet on, it's going to be a crazy ride!" Here's to the future and the incredible journey ahead! 🚀✨ #EY #Entrepreneur #Growth #Innovation #Sipology #WomenInBusiness #Leadership

Co-founder of Halo Media | B2B Brand & Communications | EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ | Specialist in Mining, Investment & Finance | Halo Media | Based in UK & South Africa 🇬🇧 🇿🇦
Last week I went to a, quite frankly, life-changing experience. Soz, long post coming up … I shared last week that I was selected for the EY Winning Women programme (I'm still squealing with joy at this!) and attended the kick-off event in London. The cynic in me (she’s known to be annoyingly sarcastic) had her eyebrows raised about a about a women's event. I was raised in a very male-dominated background, and my career has seen me choose to work in more male-oriented industries such as private investment, finance, mining, and gaming. I’ve always been more comfortable around guys. This was heavily influenced by some fairly savage bullying in an all-girls high school which means I’ve been wary of being around women, especially en masse. The idea of attending these events – with only women (and a lot of them!) – was daunting to say the least. I was terrified and wanted to pull out! But I’m in a place in my life where I’m actively seeking personal growth. I’m a big believer in facing your fears and stepping out of your comfort zone, and I’m so glad I did!! I spent a night and day surrounded by probably the most inspirational group of humans I’ve ever been with. I’m familiar with being around successful people. I’ve worked with top brands, and with C-Suite for a long time (heck, I was even invited to a lunch with Nelson Mandela which I had to turn down, but that's a story for another day!). But not 30+ people all at once! Being open, engaging, friendly, truthful, and above all, supportive. I've never experienced this before. 💛 Magic exists when people connect. I’ve learned so much, I’d need more space to write it down, but some gems that stood out … MINDSET: I’ve realised that your own mindset limits you. For some of us, we need to be inspired by others to stop placing limits on what we think we can do. Surround yourself with people who inspire you to greatness. VISIBILITY: I’ve learned that female-managed businesses are given less investment which is critical for many businesses to scale. So, this is why visibility is so critical – to change investors' mindsets and to inspire women to build empires. To encourage the amazing men in our lives who are our equal partners and supporters. NURTURE: I’ve discovered it's only a minority who don’t want the best for you. We don’t need to be competitive with each other. There’s abundance out there and you can be fully supportive of each other and help each other on the journey. As women, we naturally nurture. We need more of this in business, companies, and communities. It can only yield positive results. Phew, I'll step down from my soap box now. I’m bursting with excitement and also impatience at having to wait for the next installment of this journey. 😃 DM me if you need any encouragement with anything, I'm overflowing with positivity right now! Thank you EY, Women. Fast forward and to all the amazing people I met, and who make this happen. #WinningWomen #WomenFastForward
