Corralejo Hostels

I rated a 3 because we stayed her last year and gave it a 5. It is a different experience. Clearly the leadership are delivering a different message to the staff. Last year they couldn’t do enough, we were blown away by the unique experience. We were so excited about coming back, but sadly we’ve been disappointed on numerous occasions. It’s just another hotel now. The staff appear gutted, I can only think this is the corporate experience as opposed to the previous boutique experience. It’s a beautiful hotel with great staff, but sadly they are not able to offer that unforgettable experience we had last year. It’s gone from a customer focus experienced to a revenue focused corporation. We felt like we were getting in the way here, that can be uncomfortable I was told that if I wanted to keep the iron for more than an hour I would have to be charged 9 euros….. in a 5 star hotel!! Bizarre.

Me and my husband stayed for 2 weeks in Dec 24. - room 203 was a one bed apartment without kitchen. It was large with 2 balconies, lots of storage, separate loo and shower rooms, lounge with sofa bed and 2 tellies. Nice and quiet overlooking the pool. - hotel complex is medium sized with a large pool area. Sunbeds did get reserved but we always found some later in the day. You can stay in the upgraded area to use the rooftop pool but we didn’t. Pools were freezing so didn’t use. Gym adequate and a spa but didn’t look in. - we were half board so breakfast and dinner but you can swap the dinner for lunch. Drinks are included at dinner or lunch which was a welcome addition for half board. Food was mostly plentiful with lots of choice, particularly breakfast. The atmosphere is canteen like and it can get chaotic. Food is not replenished quickly enough with dishes left empty for ages. We swapped dinner to lunch most nights in week 2 as we were a bit bored of the often similar food on offer. Lunch is basically the same as dinner with less choice. - great location about 10 mins from the main ***** and a good shopping centre a couple of mins away called Campario with supermarket, shops and cafes etc. - rooms were cleaned every day and towels replaced. - staff mostly friendly and helpful. In terms of things we didn’t enjoy it was the chaos of the restaurant - it seemed they are understaffed and despite the staff working hard they couldn’t keep up with clearing tables quick enough. On day 1 no one explained the buffet and drinks and seating system - it would have been nice also to be shown to a clean table. Corralejo wasn’t our type of place - too tacky and touristy but we enjoyed lots of lovely walks to town, beach, dunes etc. If you’re looking for good food I’d stay away from the main ***** and choose restaurants away from there. We found lots of nice places to eat - Toro Beach, El Patio Argentino, Everest Spice plus a few places in Campario shopping centre. We hired a car the first week and travelled the whole island which was great. If we returned we’d stay in Caleta de Fuste. Weather was mixed, we had hot sunny days, storms, a Calima sandstorm plus rain but we still enjoyed our stay. We wouldn’t return but that’s more Corralejo than the hotel itself. Recommend the hotel get more staff!

We recently stayed here for 9 nights, we had a room at the back of the hotel, however we had a side sea view. We had a lovely stay on B&B basis. The breakfast was amazing... so much choice and well presented. Sun beds are 'reserved' very early... not an issue for us as we chose to swim in the sea. The room we had was a little dated and quite small, however it was kept very clean by the room cleaners and we just had to be organised! A lovely feature in the hide-away kitchen was a full size fridge.. very handy to keep the beer cold. Our balcony was tiny and had no facility to hang towels etc, we did know this may have been an issue before we stayed here, so we brought a travel washing line with us. What I feel I should point out is that there are 2 parts to this hotel... which is slightly misleading from the photos, the apartments which have the full sea view are almost a separate part, with the exception of one or two apartments belonging o the hotel, so if staying on the hotel part you cannot access the pool for the apartments. We would definitely stay here again as the hotel is very central, has wonderful staff, decent rooms and an amazing breakfast.

Positives: Lovely location; nice walk along the beach into town. Large powerful shower. Helpful and friendly staff. Great choice of food in the evenings. Large room and large bathroom. Plenty of loungers during our stay. Negatives: Pool towels are very small. Twenty euro deposit each for the towels which is steep. You can only change them once during a week’s stay unless you want to pay extra. I’ve stayed at four star hotels before where you could change the towels daily if you wished. The token for drinks is very annoying! I guess it’s just to save on staff collecting empty containers. Ladies toilets near pool regularly did not have hand wash and/or toilet paper. Hotel is tired in places, for example locks not working properly on toilet doors, flush buttons on toilets missing. The biggest negative for us was the condition of our room. It was tired, had cobwebs, stained and chipped furniture, dirty fridge and squashed insects on the wall! Small window could not be closed shut. This was not four star accommodation in our opinion. It could be with some investment in the rooms and different processes, e.g drink tokens. To note: we didn’t upgrade to MFC but equally we still booked what we thought was four star!

We didn't book direct. Instead we opted to book a private apartment with air bnb. Such a contrast to the other reviews. Our apartment was impeccable! Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean with everything you could want or need. So the complaints about infestations and no towells did not apply to us. We did love the complex. The poolside bar/snack bar did shut at 7pm but that wasn't a problem as the local shopping centre had many fantastic restaurants and it was barely 2 minutes walk. The pool bar is just that ..... for when your at the pool. There were lots of sundowners and it was quiet and relaxing. We spent many evenings just sitting on our terrace watching the hedgehogs foraging. It was bliss. The only downside was that the poolside floor was not fit for purpose. I slipped badly coming out if the pool and Huryt myself. I did see 2 other people slip also. The floor around the pool needs some anti slip tape or artificial grass added to stopvthis else someone will have a serious accident. It did not affect everyone. I have mobility problems and the other 2 people were 60+ ish. I was happy just not to go in the pool tho. It was a shame but the pros of the complex outweighed the cons. 4€ in a taxi to the main ***** or a 15 minute walk to either the ***** or the closest beach. 2 minutes to an extensive supermarket, shops, bars, chemist and bus terminus but still with peace and tranquility. The vibe on the complex was good and the Liverpudlian family didn't bother me. I enjoyed watching their 2 children play happily. The staff are friendly and the grounds and gardens are meticulously tended too. Lots of greenery in a stark landscape. We will book again.

Stayed for 11 nights in mid-November, not too crowded in these weeks, staff are great will go above and beyond for guests. We stayed all-inclusive, and this H10 food buffet is one of the best we have had in recent years; including the snack bar which was part of the AI package. We enjoyed our free evenings in the A La Carte, (Italian) which is the snack bar converted in the evenings. We went out into town most evenings so cannot comment on the entertainment every night, the animation team during the day were good fun, and not too pushy. Never a problem with sunbeds, and the pool bars provided great service. The rooms could do with a bit of an update, and they are not strictly suites. Our ground floor terrace was not as private as I would have liked, but I would stay here again, and request a first-floor room.

We are not fussy, but do like our food and wine! Location is perfect and while hotel itself has big rooms and are cleaned regularly enough, the food/drink really let it down. We we're all inclusive and opted for a pool view room. We were on ground floor had a corner view of pool. Room itself needs a little updating, beds are okay not the most comfortable, also not worst we've experienced we would have expected more from a 4* But thats our opinion. Hole on sofa bed. Scuffs on walls chips on walls etc.... Bathroom shower needs updating, shower floor felt flimsy and spongy underneath - we did find a smell every now and than. Shower handle came off while husband was in shower! Arrived late evening so dinner was available and first thing we seen as entering was a microwave......this is usually a no no for us as shows us food is never hot enough! Again would expect more for a 4 * We were right in our opinion, salads cheeses etc are fine but hot dishes are not hot. So disappointing. It's also repetitive. Cheap meat cuts. Feels slapped up. For breakfast it's again only okay. Smoothies are nice muesli cereals etc, Hot food not hot. Lunch repetitive usually opted for pizza slice or salad. Drinks we like wine and red in particular. We couldn't drink it again it wasn't to our taste, very cutting not smooth. I tried the white....awful i tried the sangria which was best out of bad lot Rosè again couldn't drink it. Beer was good. But i dont drink beer my husband was fine with that. Soft drinks were fine too. Tried a cocktail by the pool again cheap poured from a carton. My husband asked for a pina colada which had an extra €3 charge -thinking maybe it would be a proper one made and no same poured from a carton ( no idea why it's €3 extra ) Pool is large looks great, clean. unfortunately for us weather wasn't great so didnt avail of it! Cleanliness is good overall 👌 Our overall rating is this is a 3* at best and if we were to return it would be on a self catering basis as we opted to head out to eat/drink every evening. Entertainment team and staff worked hard, were polite so no issues there! Check in and out very quick! Again just our opinion, we have been to plenty all inclusives over the years this was just very disappointing for us.
