Top 5-Star Hotels in Chongqing

The location is fine for what I wanted. It is close to dozens of fantastic cafes, bars and restaurants on and around Ziwei street. However, I’m not sure I’d choose it again. It’s a bit old and tired now. The rooms were once apartments; there is a small kitchen unit (no longer equipped). The worst thing was the disgusting smell of stale cigarette smoke in my non-smoking room. Even after 48 hours of open windows, it made no difference. The shower suddenly went freezing cold for a second or two approximately every minute (both mornings) and the utterly bizarre hard and sharp plastic spikes on the shower mat did not exactly improve the mood! The city view room is not worth paying for. It is a city view, but no landmarks. The traffic is noisy all night (especially with windows open due to cigarette smells)! As an internationally branded hotel, they need to do better in terms of stamping out smoking. I think I could have done better for the money and will seek to do so the next time I’m in Chongqing.

The hotel is in a great location, comfortable room with a very spacious bathroom and soft bed. However there were some things of the hotel that needs more attention to detail, like outdated hotel information in the rooms (although the staff were friendly and provided is with a free JW Marriott teddybear) and breakfast that is cold and not very fresh.

For overseas travellers, Fraser’s is no-doubt the best place to go to. Tourist friendly, value-for-money, and impeccable service. Location is also nearby a number of amenities and a pretty nice mall , with an amazing livehouse nearby. The service staff, Amy as well as others here that have served me have been amazing and were accommodating to my wants of replacing the ironing board as well as giving me fruits upon arrival, upgrading my room without me requesting, and even letting me check out late as my flight isn’t till the evening. Simply splendid and I would book this place again if I’m ever back in Chengdu. Attached hotel lobby pictures for reference, rooms look better than in photos. Won’t go wrong here. Food deliveries are done efficiently with a robot, and you can even add their WeChat to ask for any help with almost immediate response. Cleanliness is tip-top and overall just probably the best hotel I’ve stayed during my many trips to China Any

Room and toilet are clean. It comes with a bath tub as well. Location is central with a 24/7 convenience store right across the hotel. There are a few food options along the same stretch as well. Check-in took a while as there is only 1 staff working the counter. Aside from that, will recommend the hotel to fellow travellers.

Although the hotel is clearly older, all the appliances are well maintained and in good shape, my room was clean and comfortable - one chair was really ready to be replaced, sagging through, but I just used the other one. The breakfast buffet was very good with only one exception: the chocolate donuts were stale. Plenty of other baked goods were delicious, though. Location was perfect for exploring the heart of Chongqing and close to metro station Lianglukou which is a good starting point to get to many sights. I would stay here again as service was prompt and friendly, too.

Upmarket hotel, according 2 local, best in Chongqing. Not too friendly 2am check in procedure. Great luxury room - best in class Room old TV needs an upgrade to 65 inch - not too expensive today, satellite TV not working, hang many times.

”I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Regent Hotel! The service was impeccable, and I especially loved the thoughtful features like the bubble bath available on request and the convenient daily laundry service. The in-house restaurants and bar, with their spectacular views, were perfect for unwinding and enjoying the best the hotel has to offer. Great stay in Chongqing. It was our first time, and we were happy to stay in the city's landmark. The staff was great to support, and the rooms were clean and with a great view of the two rivers: top-notch breakfast and an excellent choice for lunch and dinner. We will come back to Intercontinental whenever we travel to Chongqing.

Room is clean and spacious. However noise insulation is not fantastic, either that or my neighbors were extremely loud. Could hear them so loud esp during the power outage period at 3am on 17 Dec, in the middle of the night. Very good location and good selection of breakfast. Check-out counter staff service was rude when I ask question about where to leave the luggage after check-out. However the baggage counter staff service was excellent.
