Huatian Select Hotel (Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Branch) Reviews

The hotel is located at the attraction place near the East Gate. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was okay. There is one convenience store next to hotel lobby that sells souvenirs, gloves, hat, cane and many more for your hiking trip in this area. The uncle sell it at cheapest price compared to other shops or even night market. Highly recommended.

The hotel is close to the east gate of Wulingyuan and historic interest area. It’s very convenient to start your trip from here. It’s a 10min walk from the bus station that takes you to the Grand Canyon and zhangjiajie. The streets with the shops are 1-2km walking. They have many choices for breakfast. Different vegetables, noodles, bread, eggs, fruit etc. Even cornflakes and toast if you only like western food. They change it a bit everyday which is nice. The room was good and they cleaned it every day. Only underneath the bed it was dusty. The room had automatically opening curtains and airco. I would recommend this hotel. The staff does not speak English so if you don’t speak a little Chinese it might be a little inconvenient.

The location fantastic, just 3 min away from the entrance to the Nacional Forest Park.

The hotel is in walking distance to the east entrance of the national park. All the employees are very pleasant & helpful. Breakfast is average. The negatives of this hotel are the heaters in the room is old, which making a loud noise when the heat kick in, but it got it fix when we came back in the evening. Also, the hotel is in renovation. The construction workers were spraying paint on the exterior building. So, it has a strong paint odor. We requested to switch room, and the staff is very helpful for the request. But, the heater in the second room also makes noise. It got it fix after we notified them. The hotel just dated and need an update. But, we spend most of the time in the National park, just need a decent place to sleep. So, that’s works for us.

Location is the best, just 2 mins from the gate of Zhiangjiajie park. Also hotel has everything you need inside. What we didn’t like is no one spoke English and they didn’t even give us a map of the park when we asked they said they don’t have it but it’s a basic thing to have.

Can see this hotel should its glory day though looks aged. The inside and facilities seems got renovation recently so overall it's good (3-4 star?). The included breakfast is great as well. The location is really friendly for vistor since can walk to the main entrance of Wulingyuan in 3 mins.

Breakfast was delicious and cheap. The breakfast changes slightly everyday so it does not get tiring too quickly. Room was very clean. Front desk was friendly and professional. Hotel concierge was patient with my questions and provided helpful advices for itineraries.

Great location and rooms are well kept. But outside of hotel needs a refurbishment, very run down.

This hotel appears to have undergone a major renovation and upgrade recently. The hotel is pleasant and comfy overall, but there are no frills or excesses. We had ordered a Deluxe Queen room and it was spacious and clean. The highlight of the room was a wide panoramic window that offered a wonderful view of the town and the surrounding mountains. We recommend that you opt for this room type, if you can! The staff at the reception were kind and patiently explained everything. They met our every request, but be warned that they speak no English. You would be fine with even basic Chinese, however. There was a relatively broad selection of meal at breakfast. Although the meal at breakfast was entirely Chinese, even European travellers would definitely find something to eat as there was a broad selection of salads available. The breakfast is served on a pleasant covered rooftop terrace. There is plenty of restaurants and shops in the area surrounding the hotel. The hotel is conventiently located a few steps away from the main entrance of the Zhangjiajie national park As far as we could discern, no other hotel is located closer to the main gate. We are European travellers, by the way. Would highly recoomend this hotel to anyone, but you need to have at least basic Chinese language skills! Besides, we found the hotel to be extremely good value!

Nice hotel in every aspect so clean and staff are very good

Giving 5 stars because the lady from reception helped a lot in Wechat with park tickets and itineraries (all in Chinese, but wechat can translate). Location is the closest possible from park entrance. Breakfast had fried eggs at will and fried noodles, things usually western eat. Room air con is good, beds are good. Cleaning below the bad was terrible, and the rooms don't have mini fridge. But overall it's OK.

The hotel was quite clean. The location was superb, very near to the gate to enter national park. 50m away was the entrance.
