Loved my time at MAAT! The museum is composed of three main parts. The first is located in the old power plant (Tejo Power Station), the garden (which I didn't explore much), and the new building. The museum tends to focus on quality rather than quantity. They have a total of 3-4 exhibits, but they are quite large in scale. The new building itself is beautiful, a strange space that is long and narrow without straight lines. What exhibitions you get to see depends on your luck, as this space requires something dramatic. It reminds one of the Guggenheim in Bilbao or the Tate Modern in London. At the top of MAAT, there is a lovely terrace offering stunning views of the Tagus River and its bridges, along with a nice café. Behind the building, there is a bridge leading to the street, connecting to nearby tram and bus stops, making it convenient to combine your visit with other major attractions in the Belém area, such as the Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, National Coach Museum, and the famous Pastéis de Belém. If you are staying in Lisbon for a few days, a visit to MAAT is highly recommended.

📍Bica Funicular - Lg. Calhariz, Funicular da Bica (p2) The Bica Funicular is a bit different from the Santa Justa Lift, as it's a little yellow tram that climbs up the hill. This location is at the top end of the slope, where you can walk down slowly and see a yellow tram pass by every few minutes 🚡. Standing on the slope, you can capture the distant sea and two yellow trams appearing at the same time, or find a crossroad to take a side shot of the tram passing by, which is very beautiful! 📍Praça Dom Pedro IV (p3) There are several flower shops in front of the square, where vendors sell colorful fresh flowers 💐, and the jacarandas on both sides are blooming splendidly. Such scenery leaves me at a loss for words. 📍O Adriano Restaurant (p4/5) We discovered this place on our way from Praça Dom Pedro IV to the Bica Funicular. Along the way, you can see the monument of Dom Pedro IV and the distant São Jorge Castle. The location is a restaurant! 📍Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau (p6) This picture was taken on the street next to this restaurant. The inside of the buildings are beautiful and huge . The rooms are unique and special with 16th century architecture style. #timetotravel I visited the Belem Tower after its opening hours so I was not able to go in an only looked at it from the outside. But nonetheless, I believe it was still worth visiting and taking pictures with it on the outside. It is because what are the odds you will find another historical monument by the port!! #wecreate The monastery itself is a work of art and definitely worth a visit. Once you arrive you will see two queues. The shorter one is typically for the church (free to visit) and the longer one will be for the monastery (you need to have a ticket). The monastery hosted the famous signing of the 2007 Treaty of Lisbon which was held in the cloister of the monument. The Lisbon card states you get fast track however, don’t be fooled, it just means you get the entrance, there isn’t a “fast-track” queue. Originators of my favorite: 蛋挞. There’s so much to see in #lisbon otherwise known as Lisboa. From the architect, history, sports, food and coastline beauty- it’s definitely worth the visit. For that, you would not want to miss this iconic store - Pastel de Belém, which literally in Portuguese means egg tart. Here’s a little fun history. The birthplace of Pastel de Belém is Lisbon. The pastries were created by Catholic monks of Jerónimos Monastery in Santa Maria de Belém, Lisbon, around the beginning of the 18th century. The monks had relocated from France, where similar sweets were widely available. So, Pastel de Belém actually invented the famous egg tart back in 1837. After all these years, the original still remains the best from the taste and the scent imo. The texture is also rich, and the appearance is so pleasing. Really enjoyed it. This museum is a MUST while you are in Lisbon. “Museu Nacional do Coche” has many different vehicles from the XVI, XVII, XVIII and XIX Century. 👏🏻Those are the real vehicles from those times, many of them were produced in France, Spain or Portugal and were used by Kings and Queens. The admission fee is 10 euros. I strongly recommend you to go with time cause the museum is big and you may need some hours there if you want to see everything. They have screens for each vehicle in four languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese and French) explaining who owned the vehicle and when.
