2024 Dalat Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in December)
The capital of the Lam Dong province in south central Vietnam, Da Lat is a hilltop village of meandering streets, lush vegetation, and waterfalls. Also referred to as the “City of Eternal Spring. ” the city is known for producing flowers and fruit confections. Da Lat doesn't feel like anywhere else in Vietnam. You'd be to think you were in the foothills of the French Alps. During the colonial era, the French used Da Lat as an escape from the heat of what was then Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City, building villas and relaxing in the cool, clear mountain air.

The City of Mist!!!
Dalat is a perfect destination if you want to have a peaceful vacation.
The hill town of Da Lat has long been the most popular location in the region for getaway holidays. Many people call it ‘Le Petit Paris’ and the town even features a mini-replica Eiffel Tower in its center!
This retreat town offers a good change of atmosphere with a refreshingly cool climate. There are many beautiful homestays and hotels there with French architecture. I used to book one and I was totally satisfied with my time in Dalat.
During my vacation, I often wandered around and contemplated this lovely city. Da Lat is famous for its wide variety of flowers, vegetables, and fruits as well as its beautiful landscape, evergreen forests, and minority villages. I also visited the Puppy Farm, where many cute dogs live happily together.
If one day you come to Vietnam, don’t forget to visit this beautiful and romantic city – Dalat.
Da Lat Diocese Cathedral (Cathédrale de Dalat)
Da Lat Diocese Cathedral, also known as 'Cathédrale de Dalat,' is the most important and famous church in Da Lat. It offers a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination for tourists.
The church features a blend of Gothic architectural styles, with a prominent high roof and a steep bell tower. The structure is made of stone and wood, giving it a classic and charming feel. The interior is intricately decorated, with stained glass and various detailed elements.
Inside the church, there are numerous artworks, including decorative paintings and religious-themed sculptures, creating an atmosphere suitable for prayer.
**Visiting Hours:**
The church is open to visitors during times that are understandable to them, but certain areas are reserved for religious ceremonies. It is advisable to check the schedule for specific days and times when the church is in use.
**Location:**
Da Lat Diocese Cathedral is located in the heart of Da Lat, close to other major tourist attractions, making it convenient to visit.
**Getting There:**
The church can be reached by walking, taking a taxi from hotels or accommodations, which are not far from the city center.
How about visiting the most splendid temple in Da Lat, the exotic Linh Phuoc Temple?
Among the many unique attractions in Da Lat, the most splendid temple is Linh Phuoc Temple.
📍Linh Phuoc Temple (Lin Phuoc Temple)
It takes about 30 minutes by train from Da Lat Station to Trai Mat Station. From there, it's about a 5-minute walk to Linh Phuoc Temple.
Linh Phuoc Temple is beautifully decorated with colorful glass and ceramics, making it not only a stunning sight but also a great spot for taking exotic travel photos!📸
On the way to the temple, you can enjoy various snacks such as roasted chestnuts and Vietnamese pizza, so make sure to indulge in the culinary delights!🍕
A Fairy Garden: Natureside Cafe Da Lat
Natureside Cafe in Da Lat offers a unique, vast, and airy atmosphere that feels like stepping into a fairy garden. The romantic scenery here captivates the heart, allowing your soul to drift freely. An old wooden house, a cozy balcony overlooking the mountainside, cherry blossom trees in brilliant pink, and hydrangeas and roses swaying in the breeze create an enchanting setting. The gentle sound of water flowing from a nearby stream only adds to the tranquility.
We found a corner table with a panoramic view of the entire valley below, sipping hot coffee and enjoying a relaxed conversation. There are countless picturesque spots here for capturing memorable family photos. The coffee, especially the Arabica, is delicious, though it’s a shame they don’t sell beans to take home.
If you visit in the spring, you’ll have the chance to pose with the stunning cherry blossom garden in full bloom. Among the many cafes in Da Lat, Natureside stands out as the most charming, offering a beautiful space, delicious food and drinks, and a convenient location close to the city center.

4 Must-Visit Places in Da Lat
Da Lat Cable Car Station
Located on the way from the city center to the airport, the cable car station is a must-visit. You can purchase tickets in advance from travel agencies, but the price difference compared to buying them at the ticket office is minimal. The one-way trip to the opposite cable car station takes about 10 minutes. From inside the cable car, you can enjoy a great view of Da Lat city, and the pine forests on the mountains. If you open the window, you can even smell the pine scent. After getting off, it takes about 5 minutes to walk to Truc Lam Zen Monastery.
If you are traveling to Da Lat, here is a must-visit place.
Da Lat Railway Station
This station is located slightly outside the city center, so it is recommended to take a taxi to get there. You need to pay an entrance fee at the main gate to enter the station. From here, you can take a tourist train to Trai Mat Station. Since there are not many trains running, seats fill up quickly, so if you plan to take the train on the weekend, it is recommended to book your tickets through a travel agency website in advance.
The train station is beautiful and not very spacious, so you can look around in a short amount of time. Various souvenirs are sold on the platform, and the prices are not expensive. You can buy items like a large owl clock or a model of the Da Lat Railway Station for around 10,000 won each.
Cost-effective Dalat Hotel (Khách sạn Ngọc Phát Đà Lạt)
Ngoc Phat Dalat Hotel is a well-located hotel. It is very close to the lake and park, and not too far from the Dalat Night Market. GO Mart is just across the street, making it convenient for shopping. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby.
The rooms are small but well-equipped with necessary amenities. Due to Dalat's climate, there are no air conditioners, but there are fans available for use when it's hot.
The breakfast is delicious, especially the pho served daily.
The staff are friendly, respond quickly, and make an effort to solve problems actively.
Wonderful Experience at Dalat Wonder
Staying at Dalat Wonder Resort was a delightful experience. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful, ensuring that every need was met with a warm smile. The views were incredible, providing an excellent backdrop to our stay, with stunning landscapes that were a feast for the eyes.
The resort itself offered a variety of activities. We enjoyed a scenic boat ride, explored the enchanting snow hall, and had fun at the mini zoo. The highlight was definitely watching the energetic dog race, which was an exciting and unique experience.

Neverland Dalat
#vietnamtrip
stayed at neverland dalat for 1 nights. The host, Luan, and the staff were enthusiastic and cheerful, supporting me until I left Da Lat. There are some very cute squirrels at the homestay. In the evening, many insects will be attracted by the lights, so people should limit opening the door.
i would recommend this resort for people who would appreciate the natural beauty of da lat.

The last emperor Bao Dai’ s summer palace
Bao Dai is the last emperor of Vietnam’s Nguyen Dynasty. He was educated in France and most of his lifestyle had the French influence. Thus, that explain the King Palace built in Da Lat in 1940.
This was also the king’s primary residence during the period of 1949 to 1954.
This is like a museum depicting the past life of the King. What I enjoy most is the outside garden where you can get a great view of the whole palace.

Weekend escape to the cool Da Lat
Dalat is known as the city of the eternal spring in Vietnam and was a popular summer retreat during French colonial.
🏨 We chose to stay at De Ma’at hôtel
📌 33-35 Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa, Phường 1, Thành phố Đà Lạt, Lâm Đồng, Vietnam
The theme of the hotel seems to reflect the tradition of the European influence on this highland city.
We had no issue with our 2-night stay here. Do note that the room does not have air conditioning so ventilation may be an issue during summer months.

Lavender Dalat
Amazing views with amazing service and drinks menu! We pop there out of curiosity whilst in Dalat and it was the best choice we made, they'd just reopened a few days ago so we had free coffee and 30% off other drinks (reopening offers). The views were great and they're clearly still doing some work to the place surrounding the cafe which if it turns out the same as the cafe itself then it will be great! Definitely recommend for a little drinks break as part of a day trip.

It’s playing SUP 🚣♀️ not drinking Soup 😆
#exploreasia
SUP also known as Stand Up Paddle boarding is a very popular water sports activities in oversea.
It is a very easy & fun way to go & play on the water(in lake, in rivers, in flat water)
Basically, the paddlers need to stand up, kneeling or sitting on the board and use the long shape paddle to propel through the water.
This is my first time experience of SUP in Tuyen Lam Lake, Da Lat City, Vietnam 🇻🇳
For your curiosity, I am not a water sports player, but after I tried once in playing SUP, I start to falling in love with the feel of rowing on the beautiful Tuyen Lam lake 🥰
