The cradle of civilisation

One of the most iconic landmarks in the world can be found in the heart of Athens and its iconic Acropolis. Stood on a rocky outcrop, the site dominates the Athens skyline and walking around the site its hard not to be romanticised by the history on display here. The relatively new Acropolis museum nearby is also well worth taking the time to visit, especially considering a large amount of the sites artefacts have been moved there for preservation. #athens #acropolis
