1-6: Matteo Ricci and Foreign Missionary Cemetery, Ming to Qing Dynasty, 6th batch of national key cultural relics protection units, ancient tombs. Matteo Ricci was an Italian missionary who came to China in 1582 (the 10th year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty) to preach and introduce Western astronomy, calendar, geography, mathematics and other scientific knowledge to China. In 1610 (the 38th year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty), Matteo Ricci died of illness in Beijing, and Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty granted "Tenggong Fence" as his tomb. The tomb of the German missionary Johann Adam Schall von Bell is located to the west of the fence tomb. Later, more than 80 Chinese and foreign missionaries such as the Belgian missionary Ferdinand Verbiest were buried here. The cemetery was destroyed in 1900 (the 26th year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty) and was rebuilt in the same year. In the 1960s, the cemetery was destroyed again. In 1979, the cemeteries of Matteo Ricci, Johann Adam Schall von Bell, and Ferdinand Verbiest were rebuilt. In 1984, a new cemetery was expanded and 60 monuments of surviving missionaries from various countries were erected. In 1993, the stone gate of the Qing Dynasty was moved to the south end of the cemetery, forming the current cemetery pattern. The cemetery is located in the Party School of the Municipal Party Committee at No. 6 Chegongzhuang Street, and it is not allowed to enter at will. However, you can go to the east side of the South Gate on Baiwanzhuang Street, and walk straight in from No. 21, no one cares here. After passing through the mouth-shaped building covered with green leaves, you can see the tombs. The courtyard of the Matteo Ricci Tomb and the nearby tombstone group are locked, and you can only look outside. —————- 7-20: Former site of the Qing Dynasty Agricultural Experiment Station, the 6th batch of national key cultural relics protection units, Qing Dynasty, important modern historical sites and representative buildings. In 1906 (the 32nd year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty), the Ministry of Commerce proposed to divide the Leshan Garden and the nearby Guangshan Temple and Hui'an Temple into agricultural experimental fields, and then expanded several times. The existing buildings include Changguan Building, Changchun Hall, Gate, Gate Building and Side Building. The gate of the experimental field is made of brick, imitating the Renaissance column style, sitting north to south, with three doors on the front; the gate building and side building are two-story brick-wood structures, eclectic style, wooden outer corridor iron roof; Changchun Hall, traditional three-volume hook connection The form, gray cylinder tile, hard mountain with front and rear corridors; Changguan Building, two-story eclectic style, wooden truss iron roof, gate for column porch and arch.
