More beautiful than Dunhuang, the Buddhist statues and murals in Tibet are captivating at first sight

Baiju Temple houses a Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas, within which are countless Buddha grottoes, making it a unique ancient architectural feature in Tibet with a 'temple within a pagoda, and a pagoda within a temple'. The Buddha statues and murals inside the grottoes are well-preserved and exquisitely detailed. Baiju Temple is a monastery where the Tibetan Buddhist Sakya, Shalu, and Gelug sects coexist. It was founded in the second year of the Xuande era during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Ming Dynasty. It is a typical Tibetan Buddhist monastery architecture that combines both temple and pagoda, with the temple and pagoda complementing each other naturally. Its architecture fully represents the typical style of monastic buildings in the latter part of the 13th century to the mid-15th century in the rear Tibet area.
