Hangzhou, Zhejiang - Liangzhu Archaeological Site Park

🌈Highlights: Liangzhu National Archaeological Site Park is located in a 25-square-kilometer area north of National Highway 104, south of the East Tiaoxi River, east of Huaxing Road in Pingyao Town, and west of Changan Road in Liangzhu Town, Yuhang District. The park is centered around Mojiao Mountain and Liangzhu Ancient City, and includes Fanshan, Huiguanshan, Tangshan, and Yaoshan cultural sites. The park features cross-sections of the sites and restored displays, forming a comprehensive Liangzhu cultural knowledge system. According to the conceptual design plan for Liangzhu Archaeological Site Park, the core area will be divided into three functional areas based on the topography: Liangzhu Ancient City, the area outside the ancient city, and Liangzhu Square. The Liangzhu Ancient City area includes Mojiao Mountain and Fanshan, which are Liangzhu cultural sites. This area preserves the natural highlands where the Liangzhu ancestors first settled, and the platform-style settlements built in the middle and late Liangzhu culture. The area outside the ancient city includes most of the wetlands, waters, and some small ancient altars in the Liangzhu area. Liangzhu Square will be built into a tourist area with small villages and creative industrial parks of different sizes. Based on the original meaning of "Liangzhu" and the characteristics of the Liangzhu culture period, which include hilly areas, isolated hills, swampy plains with rivers and lakes, and a warm and humid subtropical climate, Liangzhu National Archaeological Site Park will be centered around the new Liangzhu Museum. A 200-meter-wide, 1,100-meter-long "S"-shaped green belt will be built as an important gateway and prelude to the park.
