Kyoto, as a historic and cultural city in Japan, attracts numerous tourists. The DoubleTree by Hilton is one of the few high-end hotels in Kyoto and is a well-established hotel with a rich history. Lobby: By early December, the lobby was already decorated with festive ornaments, creating a strong atmosphere. On the day of check-in, the front desk was staffed by several Japanese employees who communicated in English. They were friendly and courteous, offering the hotel's signature homemade snacks as a welcome gift. Staff members were also distributing free snacks in the lobby. Room: We were assigned a room on the same floor as the executive lounge, which was high up with excellent views. The room was of moderate size, with standard decor in bright and warm tones, featuring a business style that was simple and clean. A welcome fruit platter (for Hilton Diamond members), desserts, and a welcome card were already placed in the room. The room included a small writing desk and chair, a single sofa with a coffee table, a small refrigerator, and a fully equipped bathroom but no bathtub. A major highlight of the room was the great view, overlooking the city of Kyoto. Executive Lounge: The executive lounge is a major highlight of the hotel. It offers check-in and check-out services, tea, coffee, drinks, fruits, and snacks throughout the day. The lounge has a long layout with multiple sections, ensuring privacy (public areas abroad are generally very quiet), making it a great place to work on a laptop. During dinner time, there is a happy hour with light meals and drinks, featuring food with a local flavor.
