Lampang, a recommended day trip to a small town in northern Thailand (Part 2)

📿Wat Chiang Rai Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Recommendation: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 The main tower and twelve large and small Buddha statues are all white and glistening in the sun. The architectural style is typical Lanna architecture, just like many temples in Chiang Mai, and is of high ornamental value. I didn't focus on temples during my trip to Lampang, so I only visited Wat Chiang Rai. In fact, there are many temples in Lampang, such as Wat Phra That Lampang Luang and Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao. If you are interested in temples, you can learn more about them. 🫡 🏠Louis T. Leonowens Mansion Recommendation: 🌟🌟 Located near the White Bridge, it is the large mansion of Louis T. Leonowens and the office of his teak trading company in the early 20th century. Louis was the son of Anna Leonowens, the teacher of King Mongkut's (Rama IV) children. It's a very unfortunate place! I took a tuk-tuk there, and even the driver didn't know the place! I was even more surprised when I arrived! There was no one guarding it, no one visiting it, and I was the only one there the whole time. 🥲 You can visit the interior of the house at will, and there are some portraits and stories about the experience, and the surrounding environment is quiet. However, girls and friends traveling alone should not choose it, as it is really too deserted. 🌉Ratsada Phisek Bridge Recommendation: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 One of the landmarks of Lampang, it spans the Wang River and is also known as the "White Bridge" because it is painted white. 🧐 Due to its age, the white paint on it is blackened and peeling, but it has extraordinary historical significance. The White Bridge has survived air raids in World War I and World War II and has been repaired three times, and it still stands today. I visited the White Bridge during the day and could feel the strong sense of vicissitudes from it, but according to the locals, it is a different scene at night when the lights are on. If you are interested in history, you can come and see it. It is not far from Talad Gao Road. 😉 💬Some attractions and activities that I didn't visit or experience but are worth a try for first-time visitors: 1️⃣ Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum: As the "ceramic capital" of northern Thailand, Lampang has a variety of ceramics, the most famous of which is the rooster bowl. Here you can see a variety of ceramic artworks painted with roosters, and you can also make your own unique ceramics. If you like ceramics, you can come and experience it. 2️⃣ Horse-drawn carriage experience: Lampang is the only city in Thailand that still retains horse-drawn carriages as one of its means of transportation! If you want to experience the fun of a horse-drawn carriage, you can wave to an empty horse-drawn carriage on the street, and if the driver has no passengers, he will stop! However, the fare for horse-drawn carriages has started to rise compared to the past, so you can ask first before considering!
