Laojun Mountain

Laojun Mountain, originally called Jingshi Mountain, is located in Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, China. It is the main peak of the Funiu Mountain Range, with an altitude of 2,297 meters. This mountain is not only a sacred place for the mainstream Quanzhen School of Taoism, but also carries a rich history of Taoist culture. Laojun Mountain is a national 5A-level tourist attraction, a national nature reserve, a world geological park, and a national geological park. With its profound historical and cultural heritage and beautiful natural scenery, Laojun Mountain has become a pilgrimage site for Taoist believers in northern China and an outstanding representative of the landscape culture of the Central Plains. Laojun Mountain was formed by the continental orogeny 1.9 billion years ago. It has unique geological structures and diverse natural landscapes such as peak forests and caves. In spring, the mountain is full of blooming flowers and vitality; in winter, it is covered with snow and silver, with different scenery in each season, making it highly ornamental. There are many Taoist buildings on the top of the mountain, such as Taiqing Palace, Shifang Courtyard, and Lingguan Hall, among which Laojun Temple is the largest and most popular.
