You must stay at this affordable hotel when you come to Nanjing

Shangri-La Nanjing: A Dreamy and Quality Encounter In my childhood memories, Shangri-La Hotels represented "high-end hotels." I first learned about Shangri-La when it opened by West Lake in Hangzhou. It had already been renovated by then, and its high-end feel was deeply imprinted in my heart. At that time, I had no concept of luxury, and "high-end hotel" was the most extreme description I could think of. Shangri-La Nanjing opened in 2014, but it is wonderfully filled with the charm of a traditional hotel. As you step into the hotel, a rich yet familiar fragrance fills the air, instantly awakening memories of the past, and the dreamy feeling slowly spreads. The hotel is decorated in an old-fashioned style. The three crystal chandeliers in the lobby complement the large floor tiles, and the stairs leading to the second floor exude a dreamy atmosphere. When you get off the elevator and enter the floor, the mirror and the unique Chinese medicine cabinet are a unique combination. Although the ceiling lights in the corridor are only spotlights to save energy, they do not affect the passage. The room is a gathering place for dreamy elements, as if it instantly takes you back 15 years. The ashtray and matches are very old school, and the ashtray in the bathroom is quite surprising. Looking around the room, I saw the long-lost card that says "If you need to change the bedding, please place this card on the bed." I haven't seen one in nearly 10 years. There is also a fixed hair dryer, a uniquely designed but possibly uncomfortable office chair, and a bathtub placed on the table. All of these make for a retro night. I was glad I didn't see a shower curtain, or I would have been even more amazed. On the night of my stay, I couldn't help but think that although Atour is a lower-level brand than Shangri-La, and Atour was only CNY 200 cheaper than Shangri-La that day, Atour might have a more comfortable sleeping experience. If it weren't for the hotel experience, it would be a real problem to choose between the two. The hotel bathroom is relatively spacious, but the disposable items could be improved in terms of texture, and the ballpoint pen is not very smooth to use. The cost performance of Nanjing cuisine far exceeds that of Beijing. I couldn't wait to order Xu Ji Duck and also tried the matcha mille crepe and matcha cake from Hejing Qingji. The matcha mille crepe didn't suit my taste, but I highly recommend the matcha cake. The cake base is absolutely delicious. Shangri-La's breakfast has always maintained a high standard. This trip was rushed, so I didn't have time to experience other hotel facilities, but I will definitely come back in the future.
