Driving on the ancient Tea Horse Road to Nakeli

Originally named Makuli, it got its name because there was a stream in front of the horse inn where the horses rested, and it was a tough crossing for them. Nakeli was an important post station on the ancient Tea Horse Road of the Pu'er Prefecture. The village is small, quaint, and quiet. 🌸 What to do in Nakeli? The Tea Horse Road is paved with stones, with a total length of 30 kilometers, going up and down along the mountain terrain, and is a very well-preserved section. The Sheltered Bridge was renamed Nakeli from Makuli because of this 20-meter-long bridge built by the government. Rongfa Horse Inn There were 4 or 5 horse inns in Nakeli, and the best-preserved one is the Rongfa Horse Inn built in 1831. Suspension Bridge The thousand-year-old wooden suspension bridge outside the North Village Gate. The village has mostly coffee shops and tea rooms, 'coffee in the left hand, tea in the right' as they say in Pu'er, so be sure to find a shop you like to have a cup of coffee or tea. We chose the pavilion outside the courtyard blooming with bougainvillea, which is very beautiful for photos.
