Nake Ancient Town, Pu'er: A Timeless Painting

Last weekend, I visited the Nake Ancient Tea Horse Road in Pu'er. It used to be a post station in ancient times, but now it has become a small town of considerable size. The biggest difference between it and other ancient towns is that it has not been excessively renovated, only decorated with flowers and lanterns, so Nake still retains the charm of the old days. How few people are there in the town? When I parked my car at the visitor center, there were less than 10 cars, including mine, except for a few RVs traveling around the country. The ancient town is opposite the visitor center. I thought it was very big at first, but it only took 20 minutes to walk slowly from the visitor center to the Fengyu Bridge. You can definitely walk back and forth in an hour. Many places on the map are no longer there, such as the Nostalgia Academy and the Ancient Road Exhibition Hall. Wandering along the uneven stone road, every old house is decorated with succulents, flowers, lanterns, pine cones, etc., and you can find some small surprises. The tea house along the river next to the Fengyu Bridge, with its tea sign swaying in the wind, made me feel like I was traveling through time. The food is also very cheap, with dried cabbage for 10 yuan a handful and glutinous rice cakes for 2 yuan each. Only the beef jerky is a bit expensive, 190 yuan per kilogram, but it tastes great. After wandering around, I returned to the entrance. Looking around, the residential buildings that have not been excessively decorated are rare in today's ancient towns. Tips: 1. It is recommended to drive by yourself. You can take a taxi to get there, but you may not be able to get back. 2. The town offers activities such as tie-dyeing, horseback riding, and tea making, which are not expensive. Feel free to ask. Nake Ancient Town is still a very worthwhile ancient town to explore.
